Ryan Kelly on SoundBetter

I've mixed & mastered everything from 3 minute pop songs to multi-hour synth noise odysseys. Whether your tunes sound like Beyoncé or Philip Glass I've worked on something similar and will take the time to understand your goal and make your song sound the best it can.

Working from a private mixing & mastering studio designed by Crossley Acoustics and equipped with Pro Tools HDx system & 22 channels of analog compression! The room is setup for surround mixing and supports Atmos deliveries as well. Over $20k was spent on just the monitoring side to ensure your songs sound their absolute best.

I moved to New York City in 2007 to work at the renowned Legacy Recording Studios in Manhattan. After a few years working my way up and assisting some fantastic engineers & producers there I went freelance in 2011.

I offer remote and attended mixing sessions, mastering and editing services. I've traveled Europe, South America and the United States recording bands and even further abroad mixing and recording live concerts. I've worked with bands across a wide variety of musical genres, from mixing NJ’s own rock awesomeness Thank You Scientist to mastering Latin and World Music albums. There aren't many instruments or styles that I haven't worked on and I love finding elements of various ones that work well in different genres.

I have been extremely fortunate to work with Ryan on a wide variety of projects
-- pop, rock, metal, orchestral, ambient (to only name a few) -- both live and in the studio. His attentiveness, expertise, and overall demeanor is unrivaled in this industry. Ryan is my first call for any engineering, mixing, editing, and/or live sound projects and is the person I refer my music colleagues to most.
Absurdly fast turnaround (without being sloppy), takes notes well (without being a pushover -- offering well-thought critiques), and the hardest worker I know. Can't recommend enough.

Ryan mixed multiple songs for us. Not only did he provide suggestions for techniques that would improve the quality of the songs, he exhibited creativity and flexibility above and beyond what I expected for a small, independent band. He has a keen ear for music and delivers outstanding results - and he's a friendly, nice guy too! Highly recommend Ryan for your engineering, production, and mixing needs.

I first started working with Ryan nearly 15 years ago. He's not only a skilled engineer and producer, but he's also a trusted partner in the creative process. His calm personality is highly effective in helping to focus and lower the stress of the process of recording on a budget. Even in the face of unprofessional environments I've never seen him be anything less than professional. I know that I can always trust him with my budget and timeline. I look forward to making many more albums with him in the future.

Hands down one of the best producers, engineers and mixing people I've worked with. Ryan is able to get an amazing performance out of people in the studio, and he has an ear for details that make your music better. I highly recommend him here and to anyone who asks who they should work with.
