I can work with most genres of music and deliver a variety of sounds thanks to a wide selection of drums, including: dw collectors kit, Tama Starclassic & SLP steel kits, Ludwig Keystone kit, over 10 snare drums, variety of cymbals and a lot of high-end microphones & recording equipment
You will be provided with:
-Multiple tracks of each individual drum and cymbal as well as room ambiance mics.
-Reference mix of your song with my recording.
-In addition, I will also sample each drum and cymbal in various velocities so you’ll have options in mixing.
As for my performance, my focus is on delivering the best and tightest performance for your song with emphasis on style, groove, energy and intent. My goal is to meet your vision by enhancing the song but never distracting from it!

Interview with Gideon Berger
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Meeting new people and making new friends.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm a "punk drummer" I grew up listening to punk and playing in punk bands, but in recent years I've been exposed and performed on so many other generes, folk, rock, indie rock, pop, (even disco!) Punk drumming and punk culture thought e a lot and set an amazing foundation to how I approach music today, but it's not "all I do".
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Polished, clean, and full of intent. Everything I play and perform has a lot of thinking and calculations behind it and I make sure that I stand behind the things I play and I try to bring it to life with the intent and intensity I play my parts
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll ask the artist to provide me with a scretch guitar / reference son, if they have midi drms that's cool and can really help, and the click (BPM) of the song. I will then listen to the song a few times and start mapping out the parts (Intro>Verse>pre chorus>chorus>2nd Verse, etc.) s'nd step ould be to find the right sound, experiment with different drums and tones, different tuning, until I find the one the works best for that specific song. Then I'll go an just play along to the song untill my mucle memory feels natural and I feel comfortable with all the parts. then I start tracking, Ill usually do anything between 3-5 takes (or as many as needed) to get to the closest to perfect take. Then I will listn back and punch in the drums if needed, I don't like "edting" the drums, I'd rather just punh in parts, I found that it makes the most sense and sounds the most natual in cases you do need to fix things. And then I will sample each and every drum and cymbal and send it off to the artist. I usually provide all the drums stems raw and un processed, I also offer a high level reference mix, I usually provide a list of all the gear I used. And.... that's it!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: As my profile mentions, I come from punk and punk rock, but I enjoy tracking anything from indie rock, to pop, I've done a few ragea style songs, I did hardcore and thrash recording. Basically, if the song is good, recorded to a click - I can pull it off and have fun along the way (and make sure it comes through the recording!)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: oh wow.... So my roome is not huge, but I have great acoustic and sound there from those 4 walls alone, which is a great start! I make sure to play nothing but excellent drums, I'm a huge gear nerd and always make sure my drums are tuned and fit the song, and if they don't - I change the kit! I have 6 different drum sets at my disposal and always happy to change things up until I get the tone I want. I have maple kits, oak kits, and even steel kit (yup, metal!) I have a variety of ~15 mics, and I think the most interesting thing I do.. is using Audix d6 on my toms (yup, a kick mic on my toms) that gives such a crazy amount of punch and attack to every drum fill. I recently upgraded my inteface and added another preamp that gives me 8 more channels (16 in total!) so I do: snare tom and bottom, Tom& Floor, 2 overheads, kick in kick out, HH, room mic and Crotch mic (Which is key for my sound!)
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: It's hard to say "the most common" one... I've done everything from full 12 songs albums, to quick drum play through videos. I would say my typical client are rock/indie artists and bands who record at home and have don't have unlimited budget, yet don't want to compromise on the quality and energy of their recording. I help them set a powerfull foundation for their music by providing them with a killer drum recording in a very comfortable rates.
