Immersive Mixing

I love listening to a mix that is exciting realistic. I do my absolute best to make a recording come to life and to make it as immersive and engaging of an experience.

My passion is great sounding music. I love great music, but almost love the way it sounds even more. I've worked on lots of different styles and genres of music along the years and picked some up tricks which have become really useful for my overall work.

I was trained from a young age as a classical percussionist and drummer, then later played with professional orchestras toured with different bands. I later moved my focus on recording and mixing music. I started off assisting Rob Heaney, one of Canada's great engineers, who got me on tons of great music, film and soundtrack gigs.

I've since worked in lots of different contexts, doing some studio engineering for Cirque du Soleil on 4 separate soundtracks, to mixing films for cinema. We were nominated for a Juno and Canadian Folk Music Award for the album Hapax from Oktopus in 2018 which I engineered, and have worked on a few other award-winning albums in Quebec Canada including Laurence Jalbert - Ma Route, and Alex Desilets - Windigo.

When I start a mix I focus on understanding the artist's vision and do my best to move in that direction. I also like getting music references to gain some insight into what you are listening to and what inspires you as an artist.
