Highly sensitive to the artists' needs, specialising in working with singers who are unsure of the next step in songwriting and/or production.

I’ve been writing songs for over 15 years. I’m extremely passionate about songwriting and highly motivated to get the best result for each individual. I have a degree in English and American Literature and lean on this when composing lyrics. As well as singing, I play piano and guitar.

8 years ago I started working on music production so that I could make my own demos. It was important for me to be able to record all the layers of the music as I could hear them in my head. Through years of research and hard work, I can now produce high level tracks.

I specialise in pop / singer-songwriter / pop-rock / soft-pop styles. One of my main strengths is in listening to what you want, especially if you are new to this and finding it difficult to describe what you’re looking for. I have worked one-to-one with many singers and songwriters who were new to the music world and helped them take ideas in their heads onto paper and then into a full production. I love this challenge and really look forward to hearing your ideas.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I recently co-wrote a song for Lolli Wren. I knew I wanted to write something uplifting and insanely catchy and I really think we achieved it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Feel free to give me as much detail as possible - the more I understand your vision, the more I can help deliver it.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with the people I'm already working with - appreciate what's already happening ;-)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Versions of Pop - singer-songwriter, alternative pop, synth-pop, soft-pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I take great care to make sure the lyrics all contribute to the song's meaning/story. I help writers carve down their ideas until only the most essential elements are left. In terms of the vocal melody, particularly with pop-leaning songs, I make sure there are several hooks - I want the listener to come back again and again.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love Guy Sigsworth - his work with Imogen Heap (Frou Frou) and the albums he's done with Alanis Morissette are my favourites.
