Thomas Daniel on SoundBetter

Professional singer/songwriter with 150,000,000+ streams and major label cuts (Sony, Universal, Armada, Revealed, and Warner). Writing cuts with Lauren Spencer Smith, Enhypen, Alexander Stewart, and more. I love working with great artists and producers to help bring their creative projects to life.

I've been a full-time singer/songwriter for almost 10 years. Splitting my time between both Nashville and Los Angeles, I've learned so much and gleaned from the best of what both city's music scenes have to offer. I am well versed in writing Pop, EDM, Alternative, K-pop, & CCM/Worship music. I grew up listening to power house vocalists like Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder, as well as more stylistic singers like Lauryn Hill and Tracy Chapman. I love to utilize raw, emotional, power singing in a way that is still 100% pop sensible and commercially viable. Plus, I have a professional studio - so you will always get quality grade recordings from me. I also play piano, violin, and viola. My degree is in music composition so I spend a lot of my time in studios around town arranging, orchestrating, and playing for other artists.

I love writing, singing, and collaborating with artists. That moment when two talents come together to make better art is my favorite part of the whole process. Whatever the project, I love helping people to have the best music they possibly can. Strengthening their vision while leaving my own personal touch on someone's music is my #1 goal.

So let's talk! I would love to collaborate with you, and help you with your music however I can!

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

  15. Review by Toto C.

Working with Thomas was just perfect.
After 3 preliminary messages on the direction of the song, he delivered, top quality, well organized and simply to use stems which were the exact execution of what we had determined. In addition, he wrote, performed, recorded and delivered all the stems 13 days prior the deadline we had determined. The recording are not into pc and are perfect.
he was personally very kind during the entire process.
I will work with him more in the future.

Interview with Thomas Daniel

  1. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  2. A: Christian Fiore - he's my main vocal engineer and an AMAZING producer. Seriously, hire him. You won't regret it. Scott Taube - fantastic writer/singer and person. One of the hardest workers I know and so easy to work with. Geena Fontanella - pop POWERHOUSE songwriter/vocalist. There's literally nothing she can't sing. Kamber Kigin - the best pianist/keys player I know. A gifted artist guaranteed to make your project better. Promise! Jason Swanson - the best guitarist I know. Extremely professional and easy going, and a world class talent. Josh Howard - the best bassist I know. He does everything from pop to jazz to funk and does it all flawlessly.

  3. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  4. A: My strongest skill is definitely my voice. Part of the reason I've been so fortunate enough to find success in the pop/EDM world is because the quality of my voice is different. I strive to be a very dynamic singer because those are the type of vocalists I look up to, so the songs I'm a part of usually have really wide, larger than life vocal parts. There is huge power, but there is also tender emotion. The highs are really high, and the lows are really low.

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: Definitely my collaboration with Ken Loi. I knew the second I heard the track that it was going to be special, and it ended up being my first major cut with Armada. The song was a #BPMBreaker on Sirius XM Electro, added to Spotify's FRESH EDM playlist with 1.1 million subscribers, promoted by Armada, and got (is still getting) radio play. Ken is a phenomenal dj/producer/artist and also a great person, so I'm really proud to have been involved in it.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital for pop and mostly everything else. Analog for very specific (usually rock) projects.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: My "promise" to my clients is to treat every project as if it were my own. I only take on projects that I believe in, so I invest the best of my time and talent into the projects and people that I partner with. I always am honest with my clients because I care more about the song being the best it can possibly be then just rushing through something to get it done.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: My favorite moment is listening back to something and realizing that through collaboration we made something better together than we could've made by ourselves. That's the exciting part for me!

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: How much my services cost, and every project is completely unique so it varies. Again, don't be a stranger. Reach out and let's get a conversation going!

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Definitely make sure you feel 100% comfortable with the provider you are working on. There are tons of AMAZING talents on here, so if you don't genuinely feel great about who you are working on - take your time and keep looking. Don't be pressured into a project or partnership that you don't feel good about. The music will suffer.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: Emotional, powerful, and pop-sensible.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: It would definitely be a long shot but 100% Adele.

  21. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  22. A: Pop, EDM/House, R&B/Soul, Worship/CCM

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: I bring experience to a song. I've been doing music professionally for 8 years, and in that time I've been paid to write and sing literally 100's of songs What I bring is a seasoned point of view, a whole lot of talent/hard work, and the ability to help you get to that next level you always wanted to reach.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Definitely Pop/EDM topline & session vocals. I love working with DJ's, producers, and songwriters so if you've got a track/song you love, don't be a stranger!

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: For a topline/session vocal, first I get to work on the topline. I demo out a scratch mp3 of the the topline idea to get an approval on the lyrics and melody. Once that' approved, I book the vocal session. I record literally every part you could imagine (doubles/triples, harmonies, octaves, ad libs) to provide plenty of material for the producer to be able to pick through, stack, and layer as they feel best. I work with two incredible engineers/producers/mixers as well to help me keep up with the volume of projects I have. We edit/tune everything on our end to ensure the highest quality of vocal possible. My guys will then make a reference mix to send over and give an idea of what the finished product could sound like. Once the project is marked complete, you'll have edited, radio-quality, clean/dry vocal stems sent to you that are ready to be dropped straight into the project - so you can get straight to the fun stuff.

  29. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  30. A: I work at 3 different studios here in Nashville, so I'm incredibly fortunate to have access to a lot of incredible gear. Each studio I work at has its own unique set up, so I record my SB projects at whichever one I think is the best fit for that specific project's goals (whether its for vocals, instrumental, etc).

  31. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  32. A: I really look up to creative powerhouses like Ryan Tedder and Sia. They have their own artistry, while still having their hands in so many other incredible projects.
