Interview with Molly Johnston
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure that I am the right fit for your song before you hire me and fund the project. I try to be accommodating to every client, but sometimes I am not capable of doing what you are looking for and that can usually be realized through conversation beforehand.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is songwriting and BGVs. I have a lot of fun with layering vocals and enhancing someone else's lead vocal.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I almost always record a rough draft vocal track and send it to the client to make sure I am singing in the style they are looking for and to make sure they like the lyrics, and then I go back and rerecord the vocals and add harmonies.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lead vocals for producers, harmonies for artists, and songwriting in multiple genres.
