Mixing Stuff, Recording Stuff

Intuitive and also weirdly technical. I really love the transformation that can happen from raw tracks to a final mix that everyone is pumped about.

I've been recording and mixing records for at least 20 years. I've had the pleasure of working with groups like Deerhoof, Spektral Quartet, Geographer, Om, the Dodos, Avi Buffalo, the Brothers Comatose, Sleater-Kinney, and the Magnetic Fields.

I excel at mixing-- whether the tracks were done at a fancy studio or in a bedroom. My goal is (of course) to respect the artist's vision and to provide a fun, exciting mix that will be engaging and whatever radio-ready is.

When I'm not mixing or recording, I spend my time listening to (mostly) top 40 hip-hop, the Velvet Underground and cooking Sichuan food.
