A: I take immense pride in my personal music project, "The Happiness & Derek Clegg" In this project, I serve as the composer, producer, engineer, and arranger. Every sound, every note is my creation. The fact that our songs are being played on radio stations is incredibly gratifying and validates my skill and the quality of music production.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: At the moment, I'm wrapping up the production of my new song "The Happiness & Derek Clegg - Sunny Day"

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: The biggest misconception about what I do is that a well-executed music production is sufficient for a song to achieve success.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Don't hesitate to ask and provide detailed descriptions of your expectations. Clear communication is the key to achieving the desired outcome and ensuring mutual satisfaction with the work delivered.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I come from a musical family, and my father being a musician meant that my entire childhood revolved around music. I had access to various musical instruments from a young age, learning to play them. Growing up, I gained insights into how and when to effectively incorporate these instruments into songs. From elementary school, I played in different musical bands, gaining early experiences with recording and studio work. I performed in around 100 gigs annually, accumulating significant expertise in live music production. When personal computers and DAW software emerged, I ventured into recording, mixing, and producing my own songs independently. My journey in music has been a lifelong pursuit, spanning from childhood exposure to a professional career.

A: Certainly! One key music production tip is to prioritize the main vocal track – focus on achieving excellent vocal quality, crafting a compelling melody, and ensuring the lyrical content is impactful.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I typically work on a variety of genres, including Indie Pop, Pop, Rock, Reggae, Punk Rock, and Alternative.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My typical work process involves building the song's framework by aligning rhythmic instruments, starting with percussion, followed by creating a basic foundation of bass instruments. Subsequently, I add harmonic elements. Once the song's skeleton is established, I seek solutions to make it uniquely standout and adjust according to the client's preferences.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have a comprehensive setup for professional music production and recording. Additionally, if needed, I have access to some of the top recording studios in Poland. I tailor my approach to meet clients' requirements to ensure the highest possible quality for their songs.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I draw inspiration from producers whose songs are currently topping global charts, such as those on the Billboard charts.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: The primary task I typically undertake for clients involves handling the entire music production process. Clients send me recorded vocal tracks and provide links to reference songs, based on which I craft the complete arrangement of the song.

A: I typically inquire about reference song links to understand the client's preferences and also ask about the budget allocated for the project. This helps me tailor my time and commitment effectively to meet their needs.

A: My strongest skills lie in attentive listening, musical sensitivity, a keen sense of taste, and a deep understanding of client requirements. Additionally, I excel in utilizing technology and modern music software to craft exceptional songs.

A: I bring my own style, heart, and extensive years of musical experience to each song. I approach every track as if it were my own composition, showcasing my production craftsmanship, quality, skills, and sensitivity.

A: Whether to use analog or digital depends entirely on the client's requirements and the style of the song.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: My promise to clients is to deliver the best possible music production based on the provided tracks and requirements.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: My favorite aspect of the job is the creative stage, especially when I'm building the arrangement of a song.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My laptop, Earphones, USB keyboard, Microphone, Micro monitors :)

A: Radiohead, Coldplay, Eels, Pixies, Interpol, The Flaming Lips, Ed Sheeran, U2, Oasis, Placebo, Depeche Mode, Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys, NoMeansNo, The Killers - these are the artists who formed my musical sensitivity.
