Punk rocker who is finishing BA studies for Music Production. Recorded, mixed & mastered all types of music in my studies but expertise lie in the realm of guitar based band music. Want to try and learn more! Have done dialogue recording & editing along with sound design work for YLE & live engineering in alternative music club Vastavirta-Klubi.
In the "genre you spezialise in" part there was no punk rock or hardcore. Most of the stuff in my catalog are from that realm. I would like to stretch out though and would not mind getting my feet wet with hip-hop or jazz for example. In lot of the hip-hop stuff you can crunch stuff quite a lot, while in jazz you need to have a sense of band or orchestra playing in a room. Both of the approaches I have tried and tested in the context of punk and I believe I could transform it to other genres.
I have also done some sound design for video games and done one study course with Wwise. I have a game project going on that won Bit 1 student game awards for Finnish students in the spring of 2019 with it's early beta build. It's built around Unity and FMod.
I am currently writing BA thesis of creating drum room reverb by using a PA and microphones in a different room then where the drums were originally recorded in VS. using room reverb plugins or rack hardware.
