I am a professional musician in Naples, Italy. I love my city because it offered me all I needed to become a musician: I am graduated in transvers flute at Naples' conservatory, and I am studying composition there. Classical music gave me the strictness every musician should have to do a good job with every kind of music genre. I studied saxophone with one of the most talented saxophonists in my city, Marco Zurzolo, who is well known to be a talented jazz musician and very influenced by modern means of expression, and so am I. I love to play loop station, which allows me to use all the instruments I play in many different ways: that's why I am so much into electronic music as an instrumentalist. I own a little booth that I use for practicing and recording. My microphone is the stunning Aston Spirit, that gives me all the warmth of my alto saxophone and the brightness of my flute!
My dream is to become a professional full time movie soundtrack producer, as this would be the perfect synthesis of jazz, classical and electronic music.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My live looping solo debut album!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to be part of their project as long as I work on the track they want me to play!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Inspiration. I love to play on such beautiful an different music every time. It keeps me creative and enthusiast!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have some reference for me? How much freedom do I have in order to create something for you?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you want some flute or sax line but you're out of ideas, I can help you compose a line or give you an improvisation line, so that you can pick up the best ideas for your mix!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Sax, flute, my Roland MC-101, my Mac and my MPK mini! That's all I need.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am 30 now and I play music since I was 13. I have been producing for 10 years, studying composition and jazz. Then 5 years ago I built my home studio, and here I am!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Genuine, essential, emotional.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd LOVE to work with Dave Matthews Band, or Toto. Do I really have to explain why? :P
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: In order to create a unique track, you have to design a clear structure to decide where the song has to grow, the key points of your track and a great final. That's good for improvisation too!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually love to jam over hip hop or lo-fi beats, but I studied classical music and jazz as well, I love to play folk music with my flute and some smooth jazz or chill-out with my saxophone.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a deep and warm sound for both saxophone and flute.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Anything the client asks me, the best I can. I like to give a personal interpretation to the track, like I do for my own tracks.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to listen to the track I'm about to record a few times while doing my own business. When I'm in studio, I record along the track a couple of times to get the inspiration, and then, when I am ready, I stick to the lines I like the most and try to add something new.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an home studio, a little booth. I use Aston Spirit with a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 to record both saxophone and flute.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love electronic music, live looping in particular. I am a live looping artist so I like to compose bass lines and drums by myself, like Marc Rebillet or Angela Sheik do, relating to my wind instruments. I like lo-fi style and bold improvisation styles like David Sanborn, Michael Brecker, Bobbi Humphrey.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I love to improvise and compose melodies, so the best thing I can do for my clients is to provide an improvisation. Flute or alto saxophone improvisation, that they are free to edit the best way to fit their mix.
