Hilliard on SoundBetter

I'm a 28-year-old EDM Producer for big brands including Google, Lululemon, Secret Deodorant, and Currito. I've been producing for 7+ years and have been accepted/released music as an artist on EDMS, BeastTrap, Frequency, and more. I've used SoundBetter to finish multiple tracks, so I understand what artists really need!

I create 100% custom high-energy pop and EDM instrumentals that will make your music stand out. All of my instrumentals are modern and will make your music unique and ear-catching!

As a rising EDM artist myself, I understand how important it is to be able to express yourself exactly how you want to be heard. Therefore, I won't stop until we get it right. Your feedback is SUPER important to me and I welcome it!

Process:

I first work with you to get some inspiration on what type of instrumental you're looking for. I usually request a couple of tracks you really like, and some notes on elements you really like + any vocal stems you have. From there, I build out the first concept for revisions. I take around one week for the first revision. I allow as many revisions as we need within a two week period from the delivery date of the first revision. It's not about the money, it's about making you happy. I provide a mixed/mastered + unmastered instrumental + stems for mixing/mastering to taste.

Pricing:

Non-Exclusive - $867 for limited-run releases, demos, and promotional use. Licensed by no more than 10 artists.

Exclusive - $1079 + 50% PRO publishing royalties for commercial releases.

Buyout - $1275 w/no royalties for commercial releases. No other payments are necessary.

Jeremy is very talented, helpful, and patient! He knows what he is doing and worked with us to make sure we were happy with the results, and we are! He created an excellent instrumental for an upcoming project and we would love to work with him again in the future!

Interview with Hilliard

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I'm most proud of my alias, Hilliard, and the personal work I create as an artist. It is so fulfilling to create music that is a true expression of my soul.

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: Sure. Denny White and Natalie Major are amazing vocalists who I have used to complete tracks on SoundBetter.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital production, analog mastering. The vast digital resources for production are quite remarkable. This makes it much quicker and easier to create incredible music. However, analog warmth when mastering is a great technique that always produces a loveable sound.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: I promise that we will build the music that helps you express yourself to the highest ability. Music is about creativity, expression, and impact. I promise that we will build inspiring music that makes you happy, and all of your fans happy.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I've been producing music for a little over 7 years. My dream is to be able to share and perform my music worldwide.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: It would be my dream to work with Louis The Child, The Chainsmokers, Snakehips, MO, Kanye West, or Chance The Rapper. These artists are incredible and have been impacting our generation for years.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Break the rules. I like to make music that is really atypical of any genre-specific lines, then scale that music back (or forward) to make it feel more genre-specific.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I usually work on pop, EDM, and commercial music. I, myself, am a rising artist and that is my favorite music to make.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: My strongest skill is my creative questioning and ability to ideate to a unique sound or set of sounds. That's the beauty of music creation and production. Asking "what if" questions and not stopping at the "first right answer" but rather the "fourth right answer" really helps me to create incredibly unique music.

  19. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  20. A: I have a small studio in a creator's house in downton, Cincinnati. Our house is always buzzing, and full of creative talent every day. My studio has all the essentials- sound treatment, DAW of Ableton Live Suite 10, AKG C414 XLII, MIDI Keyboards, interfaces, etc. My studio is also referenced with Sonarworks, to ensure a consistent sound across multiple types of audio devices.

  21. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  22. A: My biggest inspirations are Louis The Child, The Chainsmokers, Odesza, Chance The Rapper, and Kanye West. I'm always excited to hear what these artists are creating, and I take a massive amount of inspiration from their work.

  23. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  24. A: The most common work I do for my clients is commercial pop and EDM music. My reason for joining SoundBetter as a provider is to start working with rising artists, like myself, to start building relationships and creating unforgettable music.
