I write and record strings for commercial records; improvisation combined with classical training ensures the best result in any studio session. Recent releases with my stringlines include Greentea Peng & Arrdee (2022). As a solo artist I'm known as The Grime Violinist: performing live electric violin to chart and rap around the world.
Tanya Cracknell is The Grime Violinist. She collaborates with MCs and producers in the grime scene as a writer and recording artist, as well as performing for music videos, brand collaborations and live shows.
Tanya has collaborated with Giggs, Mr Eazi, Lethal Bizzle, Greentea Peng, D Double E, Asher D, Arrdee, Lowkey and many more
She has performed around the world at festivals such as Glastonbury, Wireless, Wilderness and Boomtown, at venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Southbank Centre, Koko, Roundhouse and Hammersmith Apollo, plus appearances on TV shows such as Game of Talents and The Big Narstie Show.
TGV also performs for private events. Clients have included Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel and former England footballer Eniola Aluko. Brand collaborations include Vodaphone, Coca-Cola, BooHoo, and Ellesse.
As well as her solo performing career, TGV writes strings for other genres including pop, chart, afrobeat, soul, film, house and hiphop. Improvisation combined with classical training ensures the best result in any studio session.
