Interview with Luciano Andres Ledesma

Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: When creating, the secret is to work for a few hours and then to take distance from yourself. Working 24 hours on a song in one go, does nothing and spoil it. Also, the brain get's tired.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I have worked in music for films, theater and TV but at the moment I'm fully devoted to rock / pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The composition in all its artistic expressions.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Essentially ... whatever the song needs. Chords, melodies, structure, instrumentation, and when the song does not require any of my ideas, I step aside.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When an artist contacts me, the first thing i'm interested to know as much as possible about the project. I believe that the exchange (either of words or of ideas) is the best way to arrive at an optimal result. I also consider it's crucial (especially when having a client for the first time) to show how the project is developing as I work it out, and this way, having a constructive feedback that helps achieve the desired result for both.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am part of the vast majority of musicians who feel a deep admiration for The Beatles, that is to say that British rock is a style that has greatly influenced me. But I also feel comfortable listening to from Chopin to Charly Garcia, through Astor Piazzolla. My influence has three branches: Rock, academic music and tango.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Throughout my professional career I have worked in different facets. I've worked as a session player, topliner, arranger, etc. But my favorite job (and I think is the best one i do) is composing. I love working with artists and helping them produce their songs, Either creating a song from scratching or working on a sketch. I think I have good ideas to contribute.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Impossible to do it, I am discovering and expanding my style every day.
