Luca Mendoza is a multi-genre pianist and composer and is a Los Angeles Philharmonic Composer Fellow, a National YoungArts Foundation Finalist, a Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Grand Prize Winner and the 2018 Downbeat Magazine Music Award Best College Soloist.
As a NARAS Grammy Band Jazz Sessions alumn, he serves as MD for the Grammy Camp Songwriter program. He has also recieved 8 Downbeat Magazine Student Music Awards, an ASCAP Herb Alpert Award, and is one of two of the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival’s all time “Triple Crown Winners,” as a twice each Outstanding Soloist, Monterey Next Generation Jazz Orchestra member, and Gerald Wilson Award for Composition winner.
He is currently studying Classical Composition at USC under Pulitzer finalist Ted Hearne, and has recently been on tour domestically and in Canada, Australia, and Vietnam.
