Ryan Spacht on SoundBetter

Performances with members of: Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Boston Brass, The National Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. National and International prize-winning professional trumpet player. Online sessions for Disney, Word Music Nashville, and many others worldwide.

I will record beautiful solo trumpet or powerful multi-track trumpets in harmony to create the "horn section" effect in your project. My specialties are improvisation and melodic trumpet section overdubs. I have extensive experience recording jazz, trap, rock, funk, pop, and classical.

If you have pre-arranged brass parts, send those along with your audio recording. Otherwise, I am happy to arrange and harmonize the brass parts for your song.

I promise to communicate frequently and to provide samples early on in the process. We will work together to develop the exact brass sound and style you desire. Final stems are delivered in 24 bit/48 khz wave files unless otherwise requested. Average turn-around time is 4 days. 1-4 trumpet layers are included in the price, and one revision is complimentary. I'd love to hear from you, please reach out for a quote on your project!

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

This was my first time working with Ryan Spacht for trumpet parts, I came to him with a track that had only the sax section, which needed trumpets to top it off, and Ryan delivered in his first full take. I recommend him for any project that requires real trumpets.

I wasn't sure what solo instrument I wanted for my Lennon cover of Imagine. Just knew I wanted something kind of dignified and melodic and not to busy or overdone. I communicated that to Ryan in a few written sentences and a day later he sent me two examples to choose from. Suddenly the song was complete and can't "imagine" it without Ryan's classy trumpet.

Just got my Civil War era Trumpet and Bugle pieces from Ryan Spacht. Intuitively he created something interesting out of Gary Owen, the trumpet piece. I gave him his choice of the bugle calls and he picked good ones. Easy to work with and we did it with short messages!!! I will use him again!

I grew up alongside Ryan and performed with him on countless occasions throughout middle and high school including during graduate school at Duquesne University. He is a wonderful trumpet performer in all genes and for well with anyone he is in concert with. A true delight to hang with on a gig.

Interview with Ryan Spacht

  1. Q: What's your typical work process?

  2. A: I love to hear an audio file of the customer's project before things get into full swing. After thoughtful communication about the customer's concept for the brass part, I arrange and record a short sample to make sure my concept matches up. After customer buy-in, I dive in! Upon completion of my first draft of the project, I serve up a sample of the track. We usually refine some fine details, then I present the finalized stems to the customer for approval.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I promise to bring my A game to your project. I always communicate clearly and in a timely manner. My goal is to present my clients with brass recordings and an overall experience on SoundBetter that exceeds their original expectations.

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Jazz, Rock, Funk, Trap and Classical

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: I am a melodic improvisor. My phrases feel like actual language to me, and I create and resolve tension as I move through progressions. Additionally, my improvised lines are easily harmonized, so my arrangements end up sounding very natural and make musical sense.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: Energy, Excitement, and Electricity!! Clients from all over the world have responded with overwhelming approval of my fresh ideas for brass overdubbing.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: I routinely get asked to arrange and record harmonized horn section figures to accent pre existing projects. Many times, my clients will want me to fill in spaces or compliment the vocal line with improvised solos.
