Interview with Tamara Miller

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: I love the creative element of writing a new song. I also love the business side. I am very diligent and super organized. It's so important to keep things in folders and be able to find things easily, right?! I feel I bring a lot of musical ability, passion, talent, drive, and organization to the table! I love what I do and always fun to work on new projects. I work very hard and value each and every songwriter I work with. I would say my strength and ability is in working and inspiring others and intuitively figure out how to best serve the song.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: I was asked to compose original classical music pieces for a very big anniversary episode on The Young and the Restless! (Victor Newman's 40th Anniversary on the show). I composed and produced two classical music pieces on piano for one episode. I was very excited about it!

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I am currently writing music for The Young and the Restless as well as collaborating with other artists for Advertising.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love working in Music! I love being creative and working with such awesome collaborators.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I started playing piano when I was little... 5 or 6 years old. Music has morphed into so many different paths. I studied music in University, taught piano for years and it was during my bachelor of music that I started writing my own music and recording. I have been composing for TV probably for about 9 years now! I recorded a couple albums in Toronto with these amazing producers. Learned a ton and was excited to have my very first EP featured on the TV Show "Degrassi:The Next Generation" -- Growing up in Toronto, Canada (and the show was filmed in Toronto), this was very exciting!

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: I specialize in writing music for piano (emotional, heartfelt, reflective melodies). I also love writing dark/horror sound design. Two complete opposites and I have the most fun doing it!
