Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: One project I’m really proud of is the start of my Ma Khe journey in 2022, when I joined Toolroom Academy and fully committed to building my sound and consistency. The big milestone for me was turning that into real results, getting released on Toolroom two years in a row.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Right now I’m working on new House/Tech House releases for myself, plus client projects, mixing, mastering, finishing/co-production, and ghost production. Main focus is always the same: finishing great records!

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Mostly digital, because it’s fast, precise, and I can recall everything instantly which is perfect for remote work and revisions. But I’m not religious about it: if a bit of analog/hardware vibe helps the track, I’ll use it. The goal is always the result, not the method.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: My promise is simple: "clear communication, no guessing, and a finished result". I’ll respect your vision and references, move fast, and deliver a track that sounds "bigger, cleaner, and club-ready", not just “better in my studio.”

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I love that moment when a track finally clicks. The groove feels right, the low-end locks in, and it goes from “nice idea” to a great record.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I usually ask: - What’s the goal - club, label, or streaming? - Can you send 1–2 reference tracks you love? - What do you need from me: mix/master/finish/ghost? - What are you sending: stems, project export, or a WAV (and how many tracks)? - Do you have a deadline or release date?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Look for someone who’s selling a finished result, not just their time. Hours don’t guarantee anything - what matters is whether you’ll get a release-ready track that translates everywhere. A good provider has a clear process, tells you exactly what’s included (deliverables + revisions + turnaround), and takes responsibility for the final sound, instead of charging you to “try things” by the hour.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: Honestly? I’d leave the gear. 😄 On a desert island I’d just reset, get my head clear, and come back to the studio with fresh ears and new energy. If I had to bring one thing, it’d be a notebook/voice notes to catch ideas.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I’ve been producing professionally for about 10 years. I started by grinding in the studio every day, learning the craft through real releases and feedback, and building my sound as Ma Khe / 84Bit. My path now is all about consistency - regular releases on labels worldwide, pushing toward the top labels, growing my audience, and turning that into more international gigs. I’ve already had a few of those moments, and I’m focused on making them happen more often.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: Groovy, punchy club-first House/Tech House, tight drums, clean low-end, simple but effective hooks, and arrangements built for energy and movement on a proper sound system.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I’d love to work with artists like Mark Knight, Cassimm or Low Steppa, because they keep it real. Groove first, clean production, and records that actually work in the club. I’m into people who have a clear identity and high standards, not just trends.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Don’t overthink it, follow a simple structure and a few rules: pick the right sounds early, keep the kick + bass locked, build contrast between parts, and focus on actually finishing the track. A “finished and clean” record beats an endless 80% idea every time.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is making tracks translate, understanding the client’s vision, choosing the right sounds, locking the kick and bass, getting the drums to punch, and pushing the mix/master to a loud-but-clean, club-ready level without killing the groove.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring direction and polish. I tighten the groove, lock the kick and bass together, clean up the mix, and shape the track so it feels like a finished record that hits in the club, not just a good demo.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: Here’s my usual process: - You send a WAV/stems or project export, your BPM, and 1–2 reference tracks (plus what you want: mix/master/finish/ghost). - I confirm scope, price, timeline, and you approve the plan. - I deliver the first draft. - You send notes, I do 1–2 revisions. - Final delivery: WAV master + premaster (and extra versions like club/streaming or DJ intro if needed).

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Most of the time I do Mix + Master for House/Tech House. I tighten the kick/bass, add punch and clarity, and deliver a loud-but-clean master that translates in the club, the car, and on headphones.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Mostly House and Tech House, plus deeper/clubby flavors like Deep House, Piano House, and Techy House, as long as it’s built for the dancefloor.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I’m inspired by producers and engineers who keep it groovy, clean, and club-tested. People like Mark Knight, David Penn, Low Steppa, Cassimm, Marco Lys, and the whole Toolroom-style wave that makes records hit hard but still feel musical.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: Most clients ask: - “How long will it take?” Master: 24–48h, Mix: 3–5 days, Production/Finishing: 7–14 days (depends on scope). - “What do you need from me?” A WAV or stems/project export, BPM, and 1–2 reference tracks (plus your goal: club/label/streaming). - “How many revisions do I get?” Usually 1–2 revisions included — more if we agree it upfront. - “Can you do club + streaming versions?” Yes — I can deliver separate versions when needed.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That it’s just “turning knobs” or slapping a limiter on it. Real production/mixing is taste + decision-making + problem solving, choosing the right sounds, fixing what’s fighting (especially kick/bass), and shaping the track so it hits in the real world, not only in your studio.
