Deniz Cevik on SoundBetter

15 years of bringing songs to life—from my own albums and commercial jingles to major Film & TV scores.

Hello! I’m Deniz. I’ve spent the last 15 years in the studio, collaborating with songwriters and brands who need technical precision and genuine character.

My background is diverse. While I have a deep love for Pop and World Music, I’m also very active in TV and Film. Over the years, I’ve written and performed for animations, series, and soundtracks, and I’ve been the voice behind many major commercial brands. As a songwriter and composer, I don't just record vocals; I understand how they need to sit within an arrangement to make the production shine.

What usually surprises my collaborators is that I perform in 12 different languages. I’m obsessed with the phonetic soul of a language making sure every track feels authentic and emotive. Because I have "horn player ears," I naturally arrange complex harmonies and find those counterpoint melodies that might be missing. Whether you need a powerful anthem or intimate, specialized vocals, I can adapt my style to match your vision perfectly.

I work out of my own professional studio, providing clean, radio-ready stems. I value your deadlines and the collaborative process. Let’s talk about your song and see how I can help bring it to life.

Interview with Deniz Cevik

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m especially proud of the projects where I could bring strong emotional identity to the vocal while also understanding the larger musical picture. Those are the projects where I feel most useful — not only as a singer, but as someone helping the song find its final shape.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I’m working on new recordings, vocal collaborations, and music projects that move between song, screen, and live performance.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: At the moment, I prefer not to recommend anyone specific here. I like to focus on the project in front of me and the collaboration at hand.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Digital, for flexibility and speed. But I always try to keep the result feeling warm, human, and natural rather than overly polished or mechanical.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I’ll treat your music with care, listen closely to what the song needs, and deliver vocals that feel honest, musical, and fully committed.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I love the moment when a song stops feeling like an idea and starts feeling alive. Being part of that transformation is still the most rewarding part for me.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Most clients ask how quickly I can deliver and whether revisions are possible. My answer is usually the same: I work fast, I communicate clearly, and I want the final result to feel right for the song, not rushed.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That it’s only about singing in tune. For me, the real work is in phrasing, emotion, timing, tone, and understanding what the song is actually asking for.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask about the mood of the song, the language, the vocal style they hear in mind, whether they have references, and what their deadline is. That gives me a clear picture before I start recording.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: The clearer you are about the feeling you want, the better the result will be. Reference tracks help, but so does leaving room for interpretation. The best collaborations usually happen when there’s both direction and trust.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: A reliable microphone, an audio interface, a laptop, a good pair of headphones, and a small MIDI keyboard. With those five, I could still write, record, and build ideas anywhere.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been working in music for many years as a singer, songwriter, and recording artist. Over time, my path grew naturally from vocal performance into studio work, live projects, commercial recordings, and music written for visual media. Each part of that journey shaped the way I approach a song today.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Emotional, cinematic, and culturally rich. A blend of modern production with timeless vocal expression.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to collaborate with artists and producers who are open to blending cultures and creating timeless music with a strong identity.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Focus on emotion before perfection. A slightly imperfect but emotional take is always more powerful than a technically perfect but lifeless one.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Pop, cinematic, ethnic, world music, and commercial projects including film, TV, and advertising.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Emotional vocal delivery with strong musicality and the ability to adapt to different genres and styles.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring emotion, character, and authenticity. My goal is not just to sing the notes, but to tell a story and elevate the song to its full potential.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by understanding the client’s vision, style, and references. Then I record multiple takes, refine the best performances, and deliver clean, edited, and ready-to-use vocals with fast communication throughout the process.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in a professional studio environment with high-quality microphones, preamps, and acoustic treatment, ensuring clean, warm, and industry-standard recordings ready for production.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I’m inspired by artists and composers who combine strong emotion with musical identity. I admire timeless voices, cinematic storytelling, and productions that carry both elegance and character.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I specialize in recording expressive female vocals for songs, film, and commercial projects. From Turkish ethnic textures to modern pop, I focus on delivering emotional, clean, and production-ready performances.
