Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their uses, that being said digital is much more convenient for modern productions. Easier editing, tone control...
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have a very nice recording studio in the south of France, about 100m², with both a live room and a mixing room.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you need the recording for ? Do you know the sound you are after, or only the instrument you want to use ?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A grand piano (obviously eh) with some big amplification system.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Enhance an existing piano track that was written with a mouse. Create a piano soundtrack for a song. Improvise on a song. Recording of a written piece.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A piano solo album called "Astronaut" to be released on June 21st.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I can produce piano parts that can't be done with a mouse.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My inspirations come from the classical world (Listz....), film music (John Williams..) and progressive/funky music (Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Bruno Mars... list goes on and on).
