Matt Thompson's album has the variety I look for in an album. Usually it's good percussion and minor chords that draw me into an album, which this album definitely has, but also has catchy lyrics, good rhythm, danceability, and each track has singalong potential. Honestly love it, there's something for pretty much every listener.

A: I'm proud of a project that was picked up by Sony and pitched to their artists. I was the writer on the whole project of 8 songs.

A: I'm working on projects for Sony and Universal right now.

A: Analog. It hits a little deeper.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Mircrophone, pen, paper, Soundtoys, and speakers.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been songwriting for 10 years professionally.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Elements of detailed singer-songwriter lyrics blended with big and catchy hooks. I love storytelling and painting a vivid picture with words.

A: Kelly Clarkson, Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds to Summer, Justin Bieber, Miranda Lambert. These are artists I have great respect for and feel we'd be a good musical match.

A: Mostly pop, but can write to any genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Lyrics and writing melodies.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Writing songs should be creating a universe around someone's truth and sucking a listener into that universe. Creating imagery and making something specific to the artist's POV while also relating to an audience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll sit down to piano or write to track and from there, flesh out concepts, hooks, and fill in melodies with the lyrics.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've been inspired by pop stars like Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson. Country stars like Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, and crooners like Amy Winehouse.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly work on pop music and some of its subgenres (electropop, pop-rock, R&B-pop, alt-pop, country-pop) and work on R&B, rock, EDM, etc.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That their story will be told and to a great song.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Feeling like I told a story in the most honest way while giving it a catchy melody and great hook that'll keep listeners coming back.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long does it take to write a song? My answer is it depends, but I try and finalize all lyrics and melodies within 2-4 weeks to make sure it's just right.
