Mentored under producer/mixer, David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, MGMT), David Peters is a mixer/engineer/producer specializing in eclectic productions for singer/songwriters, bands, and composers.
From singer/songwriters to film soundtracks, from choirs to rock&roll, I've been blessed to be an independent producer, engineer and songwriter for the past 30 years. Working with established pros here in Los Angeles is always a treat, but I also love the enthusiasm and untapped potential of newcomers. Because I also have training and a decade of experience as a personal coach, I truly enjoy getting to know artists and helping them love the process of capturing their work.
Many amazing artists have been on the other side of the microphone here, many of them names you don't know yet, but some names you may know are producer/guitarist Blake Mills, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, Stephen Perkins of Jane's Addiction, Broadway star (Hamilton) Brandon Victor Dixon, indie artists like Under the Rug, Empress Of, Bishi, and Amber Rubarth, Composers/Arrangers Pete Anthony, Shawn Kirchner, Michael J Lewis and Michael Valerio.
My studio is built into my home, but it is packed with a world class equipment collection I've been curating for 30 years. I even started a YouTube channel about it all for my fellow engineers and home recording enthusiasts.
I'm looking forward to getting to know more fellow creatives and growing the family here!

Endorse David PetersI can’t say enough good things about David Peters and the Oak House Studio. I’ve worked exclusively with David for the past 4 years as my Sound Engineer/Designer because he makes my life so easy as Producer/Director of Radio Plays on Open-Door Playhouse. All my cast members and directors love working with him, at his studio. He’s patient, caring, he listens to us, he’s prepared and he most definitely knows what he’s doing! I can’t count the number of playwrights who submit their short plays to ODP after listening to our high-quality and production value. And with 180 completed plays…that say
My band and I have been working with David Peters since 2023 and let me tell you he’s amazing. The guy is beyond kind, so patient, and incredibly nurturing to artists. He can do anything from singer songwriter to rock and everything in between. His mixes are awesome and his studio makes you feel right at home with tons of awesome analog equipment and decades of knowledge behind the man control controlling the toys. 11 OUT OF 10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
I have worked with many engineers, from New York to Boston to Atlanta and LA. David Peters stands out as absolutely superb. His recording of live instruments is impeccable, and his mixes are well beyond what I expect.
He is personable, patient and accommodating.David Peters offers top notch end to end recording at affordable rates!
We've recorded four EPs in the last year, and each was simply stellar.
David is knowledgeable and courteous, and his studio is well equipped with top of the line gear.I've recorded here with two bands now 1) Jon Morrow and the Landslide and 2) Mute Swans. Both bands have a completely different sound. With the Landslide, David really helped to capture the Americana sound, and with Mute Swans he was able to completely switch gears helping us communicate our big epic post-rock sound. David's passion and attention to detail are just a few of the many reasons we've come back to work with him over and over again... We appreciate his commitment to delivering final mixes that satisfy our vision, while contributing his creativity and expertise. He also works in a timely fashion, doing his best to honor professional deadlines.
We've recording here many times and we honestly couldn't speak highly enough about our experiences here with David. He really is amazing Really, he's a producer and not another dude with gear. He's got a very wonderful attitude and soulful approach. If you feel your work is really worth it, this place will make you proud of what you made together.
David knows what he is doing and gets a gorgeous detailed warm sound. Fantastic to work with too - warm, encouraging, humorous, clever, insightful, inventive and creative. Very comfortable, homey feeling studio with light and windows. He is an equipment zealot and his microphone collection is transcendent. Efficient and jaw-dropping editing skills.
