June H.

Lyricist

June H. on SoundBetter

I’m a songwriter/lyricist looking to collaborate with others and expand my resume.

I’m an upcoming singer-songwriter/lyricist. I have written sporadically throughout my life, but I have not been consistent with writing, until late 2019. I have only worked with a few other writers to which no official releases have come from them (hence, I don’t have any credits). I specialize in writing toplines and adjusting lyrics/melodies to songs to make them sound better. I work on pop music most of the time, but I am willing to do any of the genres listed below and more.

Interview with June H.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I’m proud of every collab I’ve done.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My own songs.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Being able to lift a weight off of someone’s chest.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: What’s the story behind the song? What did you mean by this line and that line?

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: There’s a bunch, but one would definitely have to be Carlie Hanson. Her melodies are killer and her lyrics are so raw and vulnerable. The way she writes about common feelings or the topics she covers is what sets her apart.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: Depends on what part of the song I’m working on, but making songs make more sense to the audience and more true to the story.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: Honesty, connection, storytelling, magic.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: It could take not long to a couple of days to get all of my ideas out. If I’m working with pre-written lyrics to a complete song, it’ll be a fast process. However, if I have to write a song from scratch or write a topline, it could take up to several days.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I can’t afford a home stu yet, so I work with my voice memos app.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Alina Baraz, Kiana Lede, Carlie Hanson, Sabrina Carpenter, Alec Benjamin, Lauv, Camila Cabello, Lauren Jauregui, Ella Henderson, Loote, Charlie Puth
