Hi I'm Stelios. I like recording, editing and mixing drums at my studio. I'm a session drummer, playing a lot of styles professionally and recording drums for over 15 years. My name is Stelios Paschalis and I'm a drummer from Athens, Greece.

The best sound from my instrument has always been a necessity for me in order to meet the needs of any music style I'm involved in.

From 2012 I'm the drummer of a prog metal band called Need which has 4 released albums and 1 DVD.We've toured USA,Canada and Europe. At that time we're recording our fifth full length album.
I'm also member in a band called The last international playboys.We play indie pop/rock and we are currently recording our first album.
I'm also a session player in my country. In collaboration with many Greek artists and bands I play many styles such as rock/pop/funk/disco and of course traditional Greek music.I play almost 120 shows per year, participating in recordings and play live on TV channels and live radio shows. I'm a teacher in three music schools in Athens and giving also private lessons.

The room I record to is acoustically treated with great sound and according the style of music I play I use my Tama or Pearl drumsets, Sabian, Zildjian and Meinl cymbals and Vater drumsticks. I use mainly Audix, Sennheiser and Neumann mics.

I create beats that has the flow and the energy that is needed for every track I work for. I like to do whatever is better for your music and make your idea come to life!

Stelios has done a fantastic job on my prog rock EP (around 40 minutes total). I recommend you give him freedom to be creative and he will come up with some awesome fills and patterns for you. His playing is tasteful, he can be conservative or flashy depending on the vibe you are after. He often played multiple versions with different styles and let me choose the one I liked more. His playing, recording, and communication are all very professional. And he's a nice guy as well!

I hired Stelios to record live drums to replace the MIDI drums on my EP and he has been doing a fantastic job so far! Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m currently touring with my band. Doing other gigs and a lot of lessons.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog. I think it’s more alive.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I’ll do the best I can to deliver the desirable result.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like playing in any situation, live or in a studio environment.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Bass drum, snare, hihat, floor tom and of course a pair of sticks.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The list is huge but if I had to choose one I would say Geddy Lee. I believe Rush was a band that could make an awesome record in any situation and under any circumstances. Like a chameleon they could be adapted everywhere and I think Geddy Lee was the main reason.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Play it until it feels right! It won't be the same if you edit it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I am a session drummer so I play with many artists here in Greece. Mostly I have rock gigs and gigs with traditional Greek music. I also play with my prog meta band Need.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I believe it's time. We are the timekeepers anyway right ? I love working with and without a click. It depends on what I play.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to serve the song. I try to give the song the energy and the atmosphere it needs without overplaying.
