NPR-featured soloist, three-time winner of the National Mandolin Championship, Berklee College of Music scholarship graduate - Gordon combines conservatory training, virtuoso technical skill, and an obsession with infectious melodic and rhythmic improvisation to create mesmerizing and unique music

I've studied under and performed with Grammy winning musicians at internationally famous music festivals, I've performed solos in front of and served as concert master for 60-person orchestras – and now I want to play on your project! Whether you need a punchy rhythm layer, a simple folk melody, or a flashy fireworks solo to bring your song over the edge – or a little bit of all of everything – I want in!

I grew up in the heart of northern Appalachia, learning folk tunes from rusty old musicians all over rural Pennsylvania. As a teenager I began exploring the world of classical mandolin, including my work with the Pittsburgh Mandolin Orchestra and culminating in my performance with pianist Christopher O'Reilly on NPR's From The Top radio show. At Berklee I dove in to the worlds of jazz and also of pop music.

I can improvise in the bluegrass, jazz, and americana idioms, I can sightread as well as any conservatory trained violinist, and I can transcribe songs on the spot. This skillset allows me to accommodate any workflow you choose; you can send me anything from a fully prepared written part to a phone recording of your compositional sketches.

Please see my audio examples for a "menu" of what sort of sounds and feelings we can add to your project!
