Nick is my go to for everything drums, my first call for all of my clients because of his natural ability to frame a song is unmatched. I may use different bass players, guitarists or keys players depending on style of track, but I always know Nick is going to grove well with whomever he is working with. Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Loop library and samples for some artists I work with.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: yes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they'll walk away happy!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating something new everyday!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be open.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually Singer-Songwriter stuff. Mostly with a soul/groove based undertone.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I offer a lot of flexibility whether it has to do with communication or giving a variety of ideas to the artist to choose from if they dont have a specific thing in mind.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to listen to the song in my studio while deciding on the drums and sounds i should be using. Then I'll start to setup while listening and preparing for the session as far as microphone setup unless the artist has a specific set up in mind.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: too much to type...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: It's definitely a broad range. I do a lot of demo work for singer-songwriters and then randomly switch gears to do something more pop/electronic based. I love the challenge of changing genres all in the same room on the same day!
