I am a music producer who you can rely on for producing awesome music and shape your sound to the optimum level. I want to work on the creativity that resonates with the its essence and simplicity. I would love to work on your project to produce music and fill it with catchy Riffs, Hooks and Soundscapes with a arrangement that the song demands.

Hey I am Prashant, a musician and mixing engineer. I am an experienced guitar player for over 10 years. Having produced some records independently, I have learned and kept myself up to date with the state of the art methods to reach the desired goal.
I offer you my services to produce your song for mixing or arranging your song/music that is inspiring and catchy. I am happy to compose music and beats/percussions for the project. I am able to program drums and percussion and compose music on various instruments including Guitar, Bass, Piano and Synthesisers. I experiment with diverse set of sounds and effects, from atmospheric to percussive, from pads to leads, from distortion to clean warm reverb, and exotic & melodic.

Interview with Prashant Gurung

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: I am an easy going person and am open to any ideas and suggestions.

  3. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  4. A: How do they envision it to be as the final product? What vibe are they looking for? How much new elements they want to experiment on? How would they want the structure to be? I listen more of what the client wants to express, that I may not have thought of.

  5. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  6. A: My IMAC, Stratocaster, Apollo x4, Midi Keyboard and the best headphones.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I have been playing my main instrument guitar for over 16 years and learning about new instruments with their unique timbre. I had started creating and mixing songs since high school throughout my college degree. I started with just a laptop and very cheap mic. I believe composition is King. But also if it sounds good then it will be even more awesome

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: I usually work on pop, rock, indie, folk and instrumentals. I do love to experiment with different sonic elements and world music tunes also. But I do have experience in producing LoFi beats and electronic music.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: You can be assured that I will deliver and provide the best material that I am capable of.

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: As a listener I am into wide range of music, from Bollywood to classical songs, indie to folk, hard rock to pop, HipHop, Reggae etc As a musician I am into rock, killer riffs, world music, funk, LoFi and indie.

  15. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  16. A: Anyone with an enthusiasm to make the song sound just right!

  17. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  18. A: Have a good break to "forget" what you had done, so that you can listen back with fresh ears and perspective on the composition or the mix you are working on.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: I bring out the authenticity and the core feeling that the song wants to convey. I try to incorporate it with best possible music composition and arrangement whether it is a simple acoustic song or a full on multi-instruments song.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: First I listen to the demo and discuss with the client what they want. Then I would get into a session for creating ideas and coordinate meaningful music and sounds. Then I shape the song/music together with the client before committing to record necessary instruments and sounds. I do mixing on some elements as it might be necessary to ensure we are moving in the right direction, during recording. Finally after all this process I would do mixing with latest tools and techniques. I target clarity and the mood of the song in the mixing process and when it is right I would be more creative in mix to create extra elements otherwise keeping it simple is the way to go.

  23. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  24. A: Bringing the emotion to the song/music to its fullest potential.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
