Hi! I am a beatmaker from Brazil and I am available to produce beats with expression, originality, a lofi touch and brazilian groove for you to use anyway you want it | remote mixing and music producing
Hi! I am Abu, from Brazil, and I can produce for you an unique beat with originality and some lofi touch, based on the mood you want to bring for your song. I love to pay special attention to details, textures and timbres.
I am not focused only on hip hop beats (although it is my specialty), and I am open to bring your influences to the production process.
I am manager of Xifuta Records, a label from Belo Horizonte/Brasil, where I am responsible for the music production of the artists we work with.
I also have experience with mixing audio (music, podcast, and other products) so I am up to this kind of job too. Please feel free to contact and let's work!
Tell me about your project and how I can help, through the 'Contact' button above.

Abu helped construct some unique and tasteful beats for a few singles I sent him. I really enjoyed collaborating with him. I would strongly recommend reaching out to Abu if you find your current beats lacking detail and/or groove.
Interview with Abu - Xifuta Records
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am very proud of starting a label called Xifuta Records, where we are developing projects with people from outside the so called "bubble".
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A new project with a friend who research traditional instruments and music from Moçambique and Zimbabue.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Fantasmatik, great producer, sax soprano, and mixing/mastering engineer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digilog.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Lofi as a musical genre.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What you want to reach with these songs? What mood you would like to bring on people hearing it for the first time?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: SP404, Microkorg (both work with battery!), a guitar, and we're good to go.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I am an MC for almost a decade, and for the last 5 years I've been developing my beatmaking path and style.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Middle child, on the middle way between modern patterns on rap music and the classic beatmaking process. Always trying to learn from every posible way.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Isaiah Rashad, great voice and vocal approach to any beat!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Ears over grid.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: What I would call lofi beats, but not as a specific "genre" - more like a working approach on textures and timbres. It can work on many genres, like rap music, pop, dancehall/reggae inspirations...
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I always try to bring a "not obvious" approach to the drum patterns. Mixing textures is what I like most.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio setup with some analog processing tools and synths, like a SP404, Moog Minitaur, Novation Circuit, MicroKorg, a Fostex 350, DBX 166 compressor. Also a computer, some nice microphones and some plug-ins to reach the texture we want.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: People like Madlib, Mano Brown, Sabotage, J Dilla, Knxwledge, Mndsgn, Ivan Ave, Evidence. People who push forward their creativity.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Beatmaking and new arrangements for your ideas.
