Classically trained pianist who has branched out into jazz, pop, and rock. I can provide anything from neo-soul chord voicings, lush synth textures, shreddy leads, or ballad accompaniment.
Matt Grossman is a highly experienced pianist/keyboardist/vocalist who has recently relocated to the Los Angeles area from the east coast. Having started classical piano lessons at age 3, he has over thirty years of playing experience. In addition to studying solo piano, he performed in multiple concert and jazz bands during high school, and formed an original pop/rock band that toured and released two albums, on which he wrote and recorded lyrics, lead vocals, back up vocals, and bass.
He earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Portland State University where he studied under master teachers Lisa Marsh, Harold Gray, and Paul Roberts among others, particularly drawn to 19th century and early 20th century repertoire. While there he won the Oregon State Young Artist with MTNA, and placed third in a concerto competition.
Most recently toured with a metal act opening for Buckcherry in the UK, he is also versed in synth and rock organ sounds.
