My goal is to serve the artist, serve the song, and serve the music. I work closely with artists to help create amazing, emotion-filled mixes & productions.
Hi there! My name is Ray, and I have been recording and mixing for 15 years. I'm a musician, producer, mix engineer and above all, I'm passionate about music. I will put all my experience in work on your song to get the best result!
My focus here on SoundBetter is to provide my clients with professional production, mixing and mastering services. It's my mission to make sure my clients are highly satisfied with their production.
As every artist will have a different vision, each project will be approached differently but will still have the same professional quality result. It's very important to make sure we communicate clearly before the start of the project. This will allow me to deliver what you need and expect.
I usually ask my clients to send me their individual stems in WAV format, 24bit & 44100 Hz.
Turn around for mixing & mastering a song is about 3 to 5 days depending on current projects in the pipeline.
Feel free to contact me with any questions regarding your project. I look forward to working with you!

Ray is a top of the line mixing and mastering engineer. Literally the best I've ever worked with. Very professional and creative, he understood my music right away and his magic touch took my project to another level. He really cares about his clients and has great ideas to improve the songs. I highly recommend his services and look forward to working with him again.
Working with Ray, it's like a fairytale. You dream about the sound you want and he'll made it come true. I worked with him on several projects like Merkabah, Black Water Pollution and Sons Of Seth and he'd always hit the spot. Now, we are working together on my solo project and he can make my music sounds perfectly like I need. Ray is the perfect combination between music and emotion, he's always know what you need.
It's the second time I do business with Ray and I find him very professional and very responsive. The results of the mix & mastering are great and I will do business with him again for sure! He deserved to be ranked among the best!! It worth every penny.
An absolute pro from start to finish. I couldn't be happier with the results; my tracks sound amazing. Ray even gave me excellent recording advice on how to reach a higher level of production in the future. And he did it all in a couple days. Worth every penny!
I've worked on several projects with Raynald, and it's always been a treat! The guy is really passionate about sound and music. Once he's in, he's totally committed to a project. He's very attentive to your needs and makes every effort to meet them properly. Personally, I'd say he hit the target right in the middle every time. I highly recommend his services.
Big thanks to Raynald for his wonderful mix, his surgical editing and his crucial pitch shifting! It was a real pleasure to work together!!

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are plently of great people inspiring me. As for music production professionals there is to name a few, the great Andy Wallace, David Bottrill, Sylvia Massy, Michael "Elvis" Baskette, Jay Ruston, Greg Wells, Bob Rock, Bob Clearmountain etc... As for musicians, Steve Vai is a great inspiration, Tommy Emmanuel, James Hetfield, Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan etc...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly do mix and master songs, singles and albums for client. But in some cases, I also creates arrangements, add new elements, record guitars and bass, vocals. I am also the recording engineer on some projects.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Once I got all the audio files, I start by gain staging, doing all the mixing prep, doing all the vocal pitch adjustments if necessary. Once everything is ready for mixing, I start to mix. I tend to move quickly, starting with big strokes adjustments, then I start refining the balance, the eq, the compression, the effects. Once I'm happy with the mix, I send a copy to the client for approval. If there is any corrections, I do it then send it back the updated version of the mix until the client is happy with it. Then I master it if it is part of the contract.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup consist of a hybrid mixing setup where I do use a lot of plugins but I do also use hardware gear either as parallel processing or as inserts on instruments groups and also on my mixbus. To me it is the best of both world really!
