Muttonheads on SoundBetter

With about 20 years of experience in composing, producing, mixing and mastering, and with a great DJ skill all over the world, I'm sure to meet your expectations. I am recognized for my unique style and varied productions that sound "muttonheads". I will bring my know-how and my expertise to bring the magic to your music.

As a child, I falls in love with piano and turns to electronic music and starts composing my own songs on my first computer, being influenced by French eletronic bands such as Daft Punk.

In 2004, I released my first songs 'To You' & 'Smashing Music', which quickly met with great success. Followed by "I’ll Be There" that hits the charts and remains, for most people, a Muttonheads’ masterpiece.

My DJ career is taking off, and I've become resident DJ on FG Radio.

After a lot of EPs and remixes that I produced, mixed and mastered myself, I released 'Trust You Again', the track was in the Top 5 most played records of the summer 2011, reaching number 1 on the most influential stations in France: NRJ and FUN Radio and is getting released around the world on labels like Ultra Records.

In 2013, we return to the forefront with 'Snow White'. The track quickly becomes a programmer favorite and ranks Top 1 on national radio and club charts. After that, I ended up releasing my first and long awaited album, Demomaker, which brings together classic hits as well as unreleased tracks!

I am proud to be the official remixer for the best artists: Indila, Mylene Farmer, Moby, Katerine, Joachim Garraud, Arno Cost, Inna, ...

2019, I launched my MuttonSchool project, which allows me to teach computer music, mixing and mastering, remotely or in my studio in Paris.

Interview with Muttonheads

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I signed my first song in 2004 on Serial Records. Since then I have produced a lot of music and remixes, for different projects, and different artists, on prestigious labels like Ultra, Kontor, Universal Music, Sony, ... In 2019 I am launching my music school, in the same process I am now on SoundBetter to offer my services.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: With my years of experience, I think I have been able to bring a color, my own sound. Hence the importance of having tracks that sound different, that stand out, while respecting the industry standards.

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: There are a lot of them, some remixes have been very successful (Indila - Dernère Danse, Colorblast - Gorgeous), my tracks with Eden Martin of course, but especially what I'm working on at the moment ;)

  7. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  8. A: I am currently working on several projects, a new Muttonheads album, tracks for my deep house 'Grand Garden' project, and as a producer on French pop music new projects.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: I am a big lover of hardware, and therefore of analog. But to be honest, digital means more possibilities, more ease, and my main way of working is now digital.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: I can promise to do my best. Be fully engaged in their project and get 100% satisfaction.

  13. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  14. A: Share! I've been running a remix competition every year for 15 years! And I recently developed the MuttonSchool to share my computer music tips and advice. Oh ! And if you do your research well, you can download a free home-made soundbank and some acapellas ;)

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Try to be as original as possible, be inspired but don't copy. Collaborate and participate in contests (did you say Muttonheads Remix Contest?!) to develop your skills.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: I don't have a defined style, I like to explore different horizons and bring my touch. I like to work on club music, mainstream titles, or more undergound things.

  19. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  20. A: Giorgio Moroder, the precursor of disco. His music still sounds great today.

  21. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  22. A: "Less is more", do not overload your songs with too many tracks, and respect the rule of 6 db (processing on your eqs, compressors, limiters).

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: All kinds of electronic music, from deep to trance, including house and other EDM music. And of course vocal pop, and urban music.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: I am clearly inspired by the French touch, like Daft Punk. But also by artists of today like Calvin Harris, Oliver or Wolfgang Gartner. And legends from other times like Giogio Moroder, Space, Cerrone ...

  27. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  28. A: Of course my friend Laurent Schark, and if you want a nice vocal, Eden Martin is here!
