Interview with AVM

  1. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  2. A: I bring nearly 10 years of writing production experience, 8 years of classical music training, and finally and most importantly an open mind.

  3. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  4. A: As far as my personal projects go its electronic music as well as R&B.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Come with a plan, now that doesn't mean you have to have everything planned out, you should have a good idea of what you want in a song and how much your willing to pay, I am more then happy to flex on my prices for a person who knows what they want.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: AVM Rasi as a label does not discriminate when it comes to music we will produce so we will attempt to produce almost anything aside from things involving a live band which may be more expensive since we do not have musicians on standby like other labels or agencies.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: I would work with Bruno Mars or Ne-Yo they are both incredibly diverse performers and fantastic song writers in their own respect I could learn a lot from them on a basic level.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: If you think its a bad idea try it, some of the best things I've ever done musically sounded like terrible ideas in my head.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: Deadmau5 for sure is the biggest inspiration as far as quality goes I aspire to have the same quality of music, I could also say Skrillex as he is one of the best producers of our generation.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I currently run Ableton 10 with an Solid State Logic SSL 2+, connected to 2 sets of monitors my main set the JBL's and then a smaller set of presonus eris 3.5's for additional monitoring diversity. I also use 2 pairs of head phones, beyerdynamic dt770 pro & Audio Technica ATH - 50x's. Currently I am doing work of my bed room however do not let that discourage you I do not use it as an excuse for bad production.

  17. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  18. A: Q: Why the long turn around time? A: Depending on the size and quantity of songs as well as the nature of what you want It may take up to 14 days if not more for large orders or complicated orders to be finished.

  19. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  20. A: I promise that our services will be of as high a quality as I can possible make them.

  21. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  22. A: Ideally I would use both they both have strengths and weakness's however currently I would say digital as it is generally more flexible then analog hardware.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: Production, Songwriting, Beatmaker, Ghost Producer : Ill do an initial interview with the client about what they want and how they see the song going. After that, after payment is received and a contract is negotiated and signed, I begin producing the song and send updates to make sure the song is going well to them. After the song is finished Ill send a rough draft to see if it is up do standards and then if it is I'll send over the full master. Mastering: Ill have a listen to the song to see if it is something I can work with. If it is then after payment is received I will work on the song and master it to the best of my ability after that if the client wishes something to be added or taken away I will begin revisions.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: For the most part I do production and mastering for my 3rd party clients but I also have the capability of doing songwriting as well.
