Interview with Bliss IzGood

  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: I gravitate towards bass and drums for a solid foundation.

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: I would love to work with Wyclef Jean, Usher, Jay Z, Coldplay, Adele... Blake Shelton!

  5. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  6. A: I like boosting frequencies, and not worry too much about cuts.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I work a lot of electronic music (Hip Hop, EDM etc...) but I also like working with live elements, especially drums!!

  9. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  10. A: Listening for subtle elements, and enhancing tracks

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: If a mix job, I try to enhance the material, and work with what's there. If I need to add some elements to the song/track, I always want to complement what's there

  13. Q: What's your typical work process?

  14. A: If its a mix process, I load it into protools, listen to the track a few times and get going. If the song needs additional production, then I would choose Ableton. Either way I try to keep the emotion of the song alive.

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: I mix in the box, using an apollo twin, Focal speakers+heaphones, Blueberry Mic for vocal takes. For mixing I usually go through protools, though I use more Ableton to produce

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: Producers such as Dr Dre, the Neptunes, Timbaland and others have influenced me a lot. Mix engineer size I have to go with Jaycen Joshua, Manny Marroquin, and Andrew Schepps

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: The most common are: producing and mixing songs
