Welcome to my remote double bass recording service. I am open to all kinds of styles and colaborations. I have a great home studio setup where I spend my time recording double bass parts for independant artists, library music composers and my own projects and colaborations. No session is too big or too small and I'm work hard for a quick turnaround

I am a very experienced musician having been a professional for over twenty years now. I'm flexible enough to play any style, I'm a fluent reader if you need to send me notated parts and I'm also an experienced improvisor if you would like me to add my own interpretation to the session. I studied music in the late 1990's at the Guildhall School of music in London and since then I have worked professionally as a gigging musician, touring with well known jazz acts and singer songwriters such as Baxter Dury, Adam Beattie, Ben Faulkner, Florence Welch and others. I have worked extensively in studios, recording jazz albums, folk recordings, library music and music for TV and film. I have worked hard on achieving a rich, resonant bass sound on my fine hand crafted double bass and I can capture the full quality of this sound in my home studio setup. I am very communicative with artists and professionals I am working for and will always be open to adapting my performance to their needs and will make changes on request until they are satisfied with the results. I will always undertake to complete the session within a maximum of five days from agreeing to the session.

Please have a listen to my session reel, above right. This is a montage of some tracks on which I have played double bass.

Marcus was great and very easy to work with - replied quickly to my request, worked to my brief, came up with a great part and sound, delivered very promptly. Fantastic to have had him on hand. I recommend him 100 per cent!

Marcus is one of the finest musicians and bass players I know and have had the pleasure of working with. He has a deep, beautiful sound and superb feel and also always plays just what the track needs. He is also a generally brilliant human being!

Marcus has worked with me on a number of projects, including function gigs, festivals and recordings, both in the studio and remote. He is very easy to work with and delivers a bass part that is sympathetic to the brief whilst also being inspired and individual. I don't hesitate to recommend him.
