I’m Seb Ruban, an award-winning mix engineer and producer from Montreal, Canada. I’ve been lucky enough to mix the music of the very best artists out of Montreal’s eclectic scene, specializing in Hip Hop, Pop and Indie Pop.
For me, it’s always Emotion and Song first. I don’t let my vast technical skills get in the way of my sensitivity. My goal is to deliver the best possible sound for your track in a friendly, open-minded and professional manner.
Now at the center of Quebec’s music industry with mixes getting millions of streams, I’ve had the honor of working with artists such as: Zach Zoya, Foxtrott, Patrick Watson, CRI, Random Recipe, and labels such as Universal Music, OLI Records, 7ème Ciel and Sony Music to name just a few. I’ve also had the chance to be mentored by Joe Chicarelli (Mix with the Masters).

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Zach Zoya , mix engineer for amazing production by Boi1da and Matt Burnett. Worked with Joey Waronker, Beck's drummer as co producer and sound engineer.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understand the artist. Enhance the dynamics and most of all, the emotion.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Life, energy and emotion.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Beautiful studio designed by one of the great studio designer in Canada Nicolas Grou for Grantham Acoustic. Treated room is the number one "gear" you need for a studio.
