  1. Q: How would you describe your style?

  2. A: Creative, etheral, educated and without abandon

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: The song is NUMBER 1

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Usually I would work on anything from Indie Pop, to Rock to Reggae. I have a great grasp on the fundamentals of all the genres and would be willing to bring my expertise to any genre If the project was right.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: My strongest skill is in the creative, musical and educated decisions I would make to bring a clients project to life. I work really well with musicians and Producers and with my knowledge of music theory, can speak their language.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring 20 years experience of not only recording in a lot of studios as a musician, but also 2 Diplomas in the field of music, Performance and Sound Engineering. I bring an understanding of what makes a song sound great from both a musician and as an engineer.

  11. Q: What's your typical work process?

  12. A: First, if it's mixing, I would listen to the rough mix that the client provides to ascertain where I need to focus my efforts. After that I would get an initial balance, followed by frequency cleanup of each track. Additive, complimentary EQ followed by decisive and informed decisions on Dynamic Range and Compression. Lastly FX, Ambiance and Automation to bring out the vibe and groove of the song as per the clients desires.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: I work entirely In The Box using Pro Tools. I have an Apollo Interface from UAD, along with a plethora of their unbeatable Audio and Mixing Plugins. I monitor my mixes on a pair of Adam Audio T7X's, and also on Headphones through my AT M40x's and Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro's. I have a Sonarworks Reference 4 System installed in my studio along with a lot of Acoustical Treatment.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: My big Mixing influence would be the work of Bob Clearmountain among others. His work would include Tears For Fears, Crowded House, David Bowie, Roxy Music but to name a few, and I always find I go back to his work for sonic and musical inspiration

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: The most common type of work I do is to Mix and Master rock and pop music remotely from my home studio. I also Produce and Record music in a World Class recording studio in Dublin
