I've been doing this for a long time, so, I can give your songs a professional and polished sound using the best tools on the market.
I like to work using both analog and digital tools. That way I get the best of each world.

I usually work with Pro Tools, not only because is the industry standard, but also because I feel really comfortable using this DAW.
However, sometimes I work with other Daws like Logic Pro X or Ableton Live.

I worked abroad with Josue in a instrumental project, (with my violín) and I'm very satisfied with the final results. He is very professional and he was so worried with the small details that for sure I would contact him again.

Gran técnico, super comprensivo de lo que el músico necesita y le pide, gran compañero de trabajo. Grabé en su estudio mi primer EP y resultó todo genial. Recomiendo fuerte los equipos VOX con los que trabaja.

Interview with Josue do Justo Cardozo

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: Both. I think digital gives you ease and speed at work, analog gives you depth, breadth and color in the final result. I think the ideal is to be able to combine both digital and analog. That way you get the best of each world.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: My promise is that I will do my best to achieve the best possible result.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I think the most interesting thing in this job is to be able to be creative in many ways and at all stages of the process.

  7. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  8. A: Can you tune my voice? Yes, I can tune your voice, what I can't do is improve a take that doesn't have a heart. A passionate voice take is worth double. Can we fix it later in the mix? Maybe yes but no! Everything that can be improved in the recording will achieve a better final result. Can we fix it later in the mastering? Maybe yes but no! Same concept as the previous question.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: First I started studying music, forming my own band 12 years ago, recording the first demo. Then I started to notice that recording and mixing was something that I enjoyed. So I decided to study a career in recording and mixing. I graduated and started working on this 6 years ago.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: I describe my style as organic, musical and also detailed. The technical part has to enhance the song, but the most important thing will always be that the song does not lose its essence.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Bass drum and Bass.. always together please! :)

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I usually work in different styles of music, but mainly in rock, pop rock.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: The ability to understand what the customer wants.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: The point of view of an experienced recording musician with the ability to understand what the song needs.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: The most common work I do is the production, recording and mixing process. Decide what equipment to use, microphones, preamps, listen to reference songs and talk with the musicians to understand what sound you are looking for.
