Barny Barnicott on SoundBetter

Barny has gained a reputation as one of the UK’s leading Mixers, collaborating with artists from Kasabian to Sam Fender. This diverse catalogue has seen Barny mixing records such as Arctic Monkeys’ debut album and The Temper Trap’s ‘Confessions’, all of which have been received to great international acclaim.

Barny works from his own private residential studio in Kent.
The daylit control room is based around a 48 Channel SSL G Series and the 50 sq m live room has an adjacent 10 sq m booth which can double up as a programming room.
He has recently upgraded the live area into a full spec Atmos mix room, and is now mixing in Atmos as well as Stereo.
The studio is fully residential and has 6 beautifully refurbished bedrooms, a private lounge, kitchen and dining room, all immersed in the stunning countryside of South East England.

    Barny is so solid
Always creates the greatest, nuanced full spectrum mixes. My style is very harmonic/midsy... Which can be too dense in the wrong hands. He gets it right!!

I wanted to work with Barny on mixes, but did not expect it to be possible. I heard that many modern legends also mix independent artists. Being a fan of 1975 & Arctic Monkeys recordings that B has mixed, engineered or produced, I was shocked to find him on Soundbetter. There are lots of great artists on here, but few legends. True mixing is a secret, Barny is one of few who know it. We just finished our first mix. It absolutely elevated my work. It's literally everything.
