Devin helped me with finishing a song, as well as doing all the BGVs on the track as well. Clear and quick communication and I’m very happy with the end product! Definitely will be placing more orders with her in the future.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I love working with new people! I absolutely love creating and I love how excited clients are by the end!

  7. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  8. A: There are quite a few. A lot of people think we're all the same, but we're not. We each provide unique working experiences and unique products. It's very important to find a good fit for your song! Also, that what we do is easy. I've been contacted by many people that want me to do work for free. I understand everyone is on a budget, but session musicians work hard and invest a lot of time and money on our craft and gear. Most people will never understand how much time is spent practicing and preparing.

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: I ask for a reference track and for a detailed description for what their song is about and what inspired them. I also would love to know what type of vocal quality they are looking for in their song.

  11. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  12. A: Provide plenty of detail! This is your project and we're just here to cater to your overall vision. Let's make a song that you're excited and proud of!

  13. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  14. A: My acoustic guitar and a lyric book/pencil! I love songwriting and I'm very old fashioned and still prefer handwriting my lyrics.

  15. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  16. A: I have been studying vocals from high school through college education and I majored in vocal production in college. I am Operator Certified in Pro Tools.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: My personal style ranges from soft singer-songwriter to aggressive, powerhouse country-rock. For clients I'm able to range between soft pop and powerhouse vocals.

  19. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  20. A: I work on all sorts of genres. I've done a lot of work with pop, country, and EDM genres.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: My strongest ability is being able to adapt to what clients are looking for. I ask for reference tracks and descriptive detail to make sure I provide you with exactly what you want on the first try!

  23. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  24. A: I work very hard with my clients to ensure that I perform as close to their vision as possible. I want to make sure you are 100% excited about the final product!

  25. Q: What's your typical work process?

  26. A: For recording vocals I typically spend anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour practicing your song before I even set up a recording session. From there I track 1-2 run throughs from start to finish and then go through and re-record in sections anything that needs to be retracted. After I love what I have, I clean up the vocal track for final delivery.

  27. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  28. A: I have an in house studio. I run Pro Tools (PC), Scarlett Focusrite, with an AKG C414.
