Jesse Barnes on SoundBetter

Writer, instrumentalist and producer with an empathetic approach to each song. I often build a track around the songwriter's sketch of the song in order to retain its original intent and feel.

I'm a multi-instrumentalist and producer in Brooklyn, New York. After working with a broad range of artists from Aloe Blacc to Snarky Puppy, I'm lucky to have assembled a colorful musical pallet to pull from. Guitar is my main instrument although I often play everything myself except live drums. I have experience in most contemporary genres, especially singer-songwriters, pop, bossa nova, hip-hop and soul music.

Hit me up for a link to records I've produced or worked on but here are some things that I can help you with:

- production
- co-writes
- guitar/bass/keys
- beats
- mixing
- vocal production and tuning

I've worked with Jesse both as a producer/engineer and a session musician and I can attest to his passion, creativity, and work ethic. I was immediately impressed by Jesse's attention to detail and ability to get deep into the sonic recesses of the production at hand. Jesse also possesses the rare combination of skills required to work in both modern and old school workflows. He is both an adept multi-instrumentalist and a very skilled programmer/beat maker in the modern sense. I can recommend him with full confidence as I know he will be a great asset to any project he takes on.

I’ve had the pleasure of having Jesse accompany me on stage and studio as a top-tier guitarist, capable of adding that magic to songs of any genre and making them sound better in the moment.
He brought that same magic plus so much more when I hired him to co-produce a track on my upcoming album. From groovy synth bass to a perfect-pocket MPC beat, he brought the love I didn’t even realize the track was missing.
Needless to say, I’ll work with him again anytime, anywhere!

I've been working with Jesse for several years now. He played crazy good lead guitar on my EP, Mango Garry. So much so that I got him to produce my next batch of tunes (yet to be released). From refining/distilling in the co writing process to the orchestration of production, he takes great time and care on every step of the collaboration.
