Interview with NELITA
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by musicians and producers who know how to blend emotion with groove, artists who can make people dance and feel at the same time. Their sound design, arrangement, and attention to detail push me to experiment and grow as both a vocalist and producer.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One project I’m especially proud of is my song “Drawn to You.” I mixed house music with pop and opera something unique and challenging. I had only five days to write, record my vocals, record an opera singer, and finish the full production. I actually made five different tracks and chose this one. At first, it felt impossible, but every time I hear it now, it reminds me what’s possible when creativity flows. Another project I’m proud of was my EP inspired by a fantasy book. I wrote and produced four songs - three for the stories inside and one for the book cover. I created all the demos in just four days, and then spent about a month editing, and finalizing everything. It was a real creative challenge, but it pushed me to grow as both a producer and artist.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now, I’m preparing to release several house music tracks that I’ve been working on, as both a singer and producer. I’m really excited to share this new sound and energy soon.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m new to SoundBetter, so I haven’t had the chance to collaborate here yet, but I’m excited to connect, create, and build great partnerships with other talented artists and producers.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their place. I love the warmth and character of analog, but I mostly work digital because it gives me flexibility, speed, and precision especially when producing or collaborating remotely.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to deliver high quality, release ready vocals and production on time, with clear communication and full dedication to every project. Your song will get the attention and care it deserves.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love most is that moment of connection, when a song starts as just an idea, and slowly takes shape into something real. Watching it grow from a blank space into a finished piece of music is pure magic.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients usually ask how I handle deadlines and quality. I tell them I always deliver high-quality, ready to mix vocals on time, keep communication professional, and make sure every project runs efficiently.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People often think vocals are just about singing well, but it’s really about feeling, delivery, and making every word connect.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about the style, mood, and references, and what kind of emotion or story they want the song to tell. That helps me capture their vision right from the start.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be clear about your vision and share reference tracks, it helps me understand your sound and vibe faster. Communication is everything! When we’re on the same page creatively, the result always feels right.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d take my computer, soundcard, mic, headphones, and a pair of studio monitors - everything I need to keep creating and singing, even under the palm trees
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started singing professionally in 2011, performing live in clubs and events across Bulgaria. In 2018, I began producing my own music and working with other artists, combining my experience as a singer, topliner, and producer into one creative journey.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a blend of modern house and pop with deep emotion and storytelling.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Artists like Sonny Fodera, Gorgon City, Calvin Harris, and David Guetta inspire me. Their music has that perfect mix of emotion and groove - something I always try to bring to my own songs
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly house, pop, and EDM, sometimes mixed with Bulgarian folk elements - but I love experimenting with different styles and collaborating across genres
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is delivering emotional, professional vocals that bring life and character to any track.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring soul, emotion, and storytelling to every song. My goal is to make people feel something - through expressive vocals, catchy melodies, and a sound that’s both modern and authentic.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts with discussing the client’s vision and references. Once we agree on the vibe, I record a draft idea or demo for approval. After feedback, I record final lead and backing vocals, edit, tune, and deliver clean, ready-to-mix stems. I stay in close contact through every step to make sure the final result feels exactly right.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from my home studio equipped with a Rode NT2, Focusrite Scarlett interface, and Ableton Live for recording, editing, and production. I use professional plugins for vocal processing, tuning, and mixing, ensuring clean and release-ready results.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly record lead and backing vocals, write toplines, and do vocal production for house, pop, and electronic tracks. I also create DJ drops, producer tags, and voiceovers for artists and brands.
