15 years of singing experience and 5 years songwriting. I have also been writing poetry and written word for 10 years at least.
I have 15 years experience singing and performing live for audiences. For the last 4 years I have been singing at live gigs as well as doing a number of recording jobs for artists and producers singing on their albums. I was trained by some of the top professionals in the industry at Leeds College of Music.
I have been writing and working on my own original album for about 6 months. I have also written lyrics for many artists in Leeds and London. I believe I have a unique ability to be able to understand and portray the inner world of who I am writing lyrics for. I am good at seeing into the minds of the artists I work with to understand their thoughts and feelings.
I like to speak to my clients to find out what theme they wish to write about and what style of lyrics they want. I get to know some details to gain ideas and to help me write a song best suited to them, and I can then go away and write it. In about a week I can give you a first draft, and we can then discuss any changes that you might want to be made. I can then edit and complete it within another week. We will then finish it together to ensure that you are happy with the final product.

Interview with Gemma Felicity Harborne
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: My own album is R&B/Soul, but I also write a lot of dark pop. I am currently also working on an indie album with another musician.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Reflecting strong emotions in my songs through both voice and lyrics. I write memorable, relatable yet unique lyrics. I am able to tell a great story. I have a lot of emotional intelligence which I believe helps me when writing, as I am easily able to place myself into the mind of the client I am writing for.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I will accept a brief and then speak directly to my client on the phone before beginning the project. I gather the information I need to begin, and then go away and will take around 7-10 days to get a first draft of the song back to my client. I then request for any feedback and will make changes and improvements within another 7-10 days. I always ensure that my clients are happy with their final product.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a full home studio with top quality recording equipment.
