As a 22-year old trained opera singer with a knack for storytelling and a passion for psych rock and americana, I am a very versatile artist. I am an avid writer, and competitive opera is a part of my upbringing. I have worked under the conduction of film composer John Williams, and am currently set to release my debut EP, "I'm not scared enough".
My whole life, I have been fascinated by the art of storytelling. My father, who dabbled in vocals and guitar with his high school rock band in the 80s, always had the same passion as me, though he was never able to fully pursue his dream. He invested in me from a young age and I gained years of pre-professional training in opera and musical theatre.
In my teenage years, I attended the Boston University Tanglewood Institute's Young Artist's Vocal Program. It was there that I honed my musical skills and worked with incredible artists and experts who allowed me to explore my full vocal range.
When I was 19 and fresh out of high school, I took a full year, traveled the country and wrote poetry about things I found to be beautiful.
I ended up spending a few months in Illinois and taught myself to play guitar. I then learned that I could turn my poetry and pain into music that I would want to listen to.
Most recently, I have been nominated for 'Best Original Score" at a Spanish film festival, which was a score I wrote and self-produced.
My true passion is incorporating elements of all genres to find an authentic sound and use that sound to tell true stories that can only be truly captured through music. I began to find healing through my art and hope to collaborate with artists that are waiting to write their own stories.
I can't wait to listen to your diaries.

Caroline is a really good writer and performer. Not your run of the mill female singer songwriter. Really interesting and awesome to work with.

Interview with Flora Algera
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Marvin Gaye, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan...they all redefined music. I believe that King Crimson repurposed what musical genres meant at the time of their "In the Court of the Crimson King" release. Currently, Lana Del Rey captures the trauma of womanhood in such a dark yet romanticized way, and her profound lyricism inspires me as a poet. Kurt Cobain is an artistic legend who I believe had the perfect mind for developing an original sound and artistic image that the world needed at the time. Twenty One Pilots are also an inspiration of mine, as they know exactly how to build an authentic fanbase and live shows that surpass most others I have seen (and I attend MANY live shows). Lil Nas X is a trailblazer and conceptual storyteller (especially in his debut LP "Montero"). Halsey's "If I Can't Have Love I Want Power" has been one of my greatest influences as of late. Foxing is a highly underrated underground emo-soft rock band with immaculate lyricism. Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" is also a musical masterpiece. Doja Cat is a current favorite of mine, as she manipulates her sweet sounding vocals fiercely. I could go on, but I won't ramble any longer.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on a few things. I have a single and EP to be released under my alias "Flora Algera" this summer. I also am acting in a short film this summer which will be filmed in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: More than anything, I long to work with Jack Antinoff. His production speaks to me like no other. His commitment to uplifting female voices and capturing their visions with grace inspires me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I first want to discuss with them what the artist's vision is and ensure that I am the right person for them to work with. I have years of voice training, and my soprano voice spans many genres including rock, pop, soul, opera, choral, musical theatre, jazz, and folk. I also provide great lyricism and love to collaborate more than anything on lyrical content. I have always said my main instrument is the pen, and the music comes second. Without something important to say, it is difficult to convey the correct emotions and experience through the sound. I also have recently been nominated for Best Original Score for my work as a film composer on a short-film entitled "In Bloom". I offer low prices for film composition and adore the art of filmmaking (I am also an actor). I am a self-taught guitarist and have a great ear for harmonies. In my youth I was a member of a girl-band and worked at an intensive opera program. Both of these experiences taught me how to manipulate harmonies and layer them in a fluid way.
