You're probably here because your instrumental needs a male vocal; if so, I'm here to tell you that you've come to the right page. Vocals can make or break your project, so it's important that you get it right. I'm here to assure that your song is complete with a crisp-sounding vocal track. I can also craft lyrics, mix, and produce beats for you.
Justin Ortiz, better known in the music world as Zitro, has been expanding the musical palate of the New York music scene for the past decade. The Bronx-based singer, songwriter, and producer creates songs that are as diverse as his upbringing, mixing R&B, pop, soul, and other musical genres to create a style and voice all his own.
His music is influenced by the vast array of musical knowledge he commands and his lived experiences, and is inspired by the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson, Seal, and Lenny Kravitz. Zitro’s songs offer personal, down-to-earth lyrics and narratives in addition to varied, complex rhythms, as his inspiration and creativity is deeply rooted in his own personal history and life experiences. Never one to shy away from the experimental and new, Zitro finds creative ways to interweave found sounds, stripped-down textures, and a rhythmic groove to create an entirely new and unique sonic experience for his listeners.
Zitro is as active in the studio as he is out in the community. In just under a decade, he’s self-released three EPs and five albums, and the hard work doesn’t stop there. He is currently signed with the independent record label Rodney Records as of late March 2021.

Zitro is indeed a wonderful singer. He made an amazing vocal track for my song.
A talented singer who knows how to create music! He isn’t just amazing with hooks! He is an amazing producer with his own sound that makes him stand out from the rest of the music scene! we are going definitely work more as time goes on!
What about Zitro? Zitro is an undiscovered treasure. In my opinion he has the potential equal to the best singers in the soul-pop-rock scene. His voice tone is beautiful. When he performs a song, he puts a lot of his generous heart into it. Working with him was really wonderful. He always patiently listened to everything I wanted to share with him. Zitro's artistic direction tends towards the soul style, but I wanted something a little different and he managed to meet my demands perfectly. Zitro responds quickly to messages and delivers high quality work in a short amount of time.
I've had the pleasure of working with Zitro in regards to him providing crisp and amazing vocals for my upcoming projects. He meets and exceeds all deadlines and expectations and I gladly recommend him to anyone's upcoming project and look forward to working with him in the future.
Interview with Zitro
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: As of 7/2/2021, I'm working on my sixth album, and simultaneously, a video from that album.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Rory Hope. He's the reason why I know about this website. The boy can SANG.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It depends on what I'm feeling at the moment of when inspiration struck. Sometimes it's a House day, the next time could be a dark ballad, or even a throwback sounding R&B song.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest would have to be mixing and producing. I have a good ear for matching exactly what a song or sound is supposed to sound like.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: As much emotion and meaning as possible, and making sure it rubs off onto the audience. It's the most important thing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Very simple setup, but also very effective to my needs and the needs of my collaborators / clients. Samsung C01U Condenser Mic, Akai MPK midi keyboard, and the Reason 6-8.
