Interview with Evgeny Malyshev
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both of them simultaneously. I love analog, but I want that noise only when I need it. I love digital, but I use it when it needs to be digitally perfect.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I can do my job wherever I am, either at my home studio or far, far away from it :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: People often do confuse sound producer with sound engineer/mixing engineer. And when they've been told I'm a sound producer, they ask me to mix their stuff, and I'm like "no-no!" :D
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been doing this for over 10 years now.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Twenty One Pilots, The Weeknd, Imagine Dragons, Linkin Park, YUNGBLUD, deadmau5, Empire Of The Sun, Rob Scallon, Andrew Huang, Rick Rubin, Paul Meany, Illangelo.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I just do record specific musical instruments for artists. Sometimes I do full-cycle sound production for them.
