I am a singer, recording engineer, and music producer based in NYC. I have been working in a cappella recording and production for the past 5 years where I have traveled all over the East Coast to record and produce hundreds of vocalists.
I take pride in my ability to coach the singers and give them tips in order to reach their performance potential. In addition to traveling, I work in my apartment recording studio located in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan in a sound proof space with top tier microphones and other recording equipment.
I have 5 years of experience in Logic Pro, Melodyne and Finale.
As a vocalist I have the ability to record and edit myself. I am proficient in various styles including pop, rock, R&B, Musical Theatre, and Classical.
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New York University- Tisch School of the Arts.

Interview with Nicky Brenner
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on two a cappella albums from two groups at Binghamton University. I'm also working on an acoustic guitar/singer single from a performer based in Brooklyn.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: You will love the final product because refuse to settle for anything less than that. This process will be stress free and straightforward and I will be there to answer any questions throughout the entire process.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That "Autotune" is auto. I spend hours in melodyne working in an extremely detail oriented way.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Tell me about your style. What are your strengths and weaknesses? What are you looking to learn in the production process?
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is probably my ability to coach singers. I come from a singing background and studied various vocal styles when I earned my BFA from NYU. I also have a lot of experience in education so I feel I can guide singers towards better style choices in a way that makes them feel empowered and confident in their talent. I am also highly skilled in Melodyne and I can work very quickly to edit vocals in a clean, yet natural sounding way.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an apartment studio in Hell's Kitchen. The walls are totally sound proofed. I have state of the art microphones (AKG C414 XLII (3), SM7B (1), Sennheiser e835 (4)) and other recording equipment. I record in Logic mostly, but can also work in ProTools.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically, I work in a cappella production where I have traveled all over the East Coast to record hundreds of vocalists. I coach the singers on their style and execution in order to bring their performance to the next level. Then I edit the vocals in Logic and Melodyne. I also do vocal percussion editing and sampling. I then mix the songs in Logic. I am here as a producer to guide my clients through the entire production process and I am here to be their go to through the entire process.
