Interview with Andrea Montanari

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Although the project is still in the works, I am satisfied and proud that the artist has approved my musical production for one of his songs which I have taken on. The role I play in the project is that of ghost producer and is the same as that of my other colleagues. We divide the tasks equally so that the work is optimized.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I'm working in a production team for an emerging artist who needed beats for his vocal toplines. At the same time I'm producing an EP for another artist.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Personally I prefer digital because they are more comfortable, the results obtained are very close to those of analog and, above all, the costs are much lower than investing in analog equipment.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love the fact that my work is constantly evolving and moving. In the productions I can vent my creativity freely and this amuses me a lot. Experimenting, creating new things ... it is often tiring but also fun and satisfying when you have achieved the desired result.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: I don't know if I have the necessary experience to give advice ... but what I've learned is that you have to bang your head in order to improve, listen to many references and study them to understand the tricks of professional producers and never be discouraged in the face of difficulties because , once they get over it, they will make you a better producer.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Lately I have been working for artists related to the Hip-Hop / Trap world. But my dream is to work for the great Pop productions.

  13. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  14. A: In a song I bring my personality, my creativity and my artistic identity. I always try to create new and captivating solutions that can affect the client and possible listener.

  15. Q: What's your typical work process?

  16. A: My typical work is divided into listening to the client's requests and proceeding with the arrangement, composition and choice of sounds based on his genre requests or whatever. At that point I mix creativity and technique to then go to mix and master the production and deliver the final product.

  17. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  18. A: There are so many of musical productions that inspire me. Let's say that I love to range from what Trap Music to Pop Music can be, passing through electronic sounds ... In summary, everything that becomes popular and successful music is a source of inspiration for me.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: The work I do with my clients is above all open to dialogue and comparison since it is very important to produce a song that respects the wishes of the client. So for me it is essential to know in which direction to go with the work and therefore it is mandatory to understand what exactly the client wants to satisfy him.
