James Cody specializes in instrumental track writing, composition, and production. As a multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer, he is able to offer affordable rates and all-inclusive production packages to creatives with various budgets. James is an accomplished instrumentalist and award winning composer (2015 AFM ADDY Award - "Rise")
Based out of Nashville, TN, James specializes in music production, live performance, songwriting, arranging, sound design and MIDI programming.
James holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music - Music Technology from The University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Science in Audio Engineering from Belmont University. He studied classical guitar under Yaniv Attar and Jazz under Eric Essix.
During his junior year at UAB in 2014, he was commissioned by Dr. Henry Panion, III to play lead and rhythm guitar on his rendition of Heaven Help Us All by Stevie Wonder.
In 2015, James was awarded a Silver ADDY from the American Advertising Association for his original underscore Rise, which was featured on a digital ad campaign for the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
In 2018, James composed, arranged, and produced the music for a television pilot (*Undisclosed) that was shot in Nashville, TN. James is actively composing and producing music for music catalogues and pitching for Film/TV/Game soundtrack placement.
