Interview with Spolor Ghost Production
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: From 2006-2014, my partner and I had a Hardstyle project The Crasherz, on the local stage we had good success both as DJs and as musicians.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: In the near future, my partner and I want to launch a new project where we will make Hardcore music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I can recommend producer Nick Shabalin from Moscow, we worked together on creating sample packs on the Dropgun Samples label.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I think in the modern world, everything can already be done on digital, now you have enough of a home digital studio to do really cool things if you have experience in your work, but at the same time, I think that an analog also has a place to be, because it has its own unique warm sound.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The high-quality and creative result, I promise they will not be disappointed
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: To do what you love, to which you have devoted half of your life.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: About the time, deadline, price. I answer all their questions in the DM.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: It's as if I'm taking orders like a robot, in fact, I approach each order with soul and creativity as if I'm writing music for myself to conquer the charts tomorrow.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Mostly what's on their mind, their vision, ideas, and references.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To describe in more detail the sound of the track that he would like to turn out, send me 1-2 reference tracks that I would focus on.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Machete, hammock, lighter, flashlight, and my wife).
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making music in 2005, and from 2006 to 2014 I actively performed as a DJ, from 2014 to today I have completely moved into Ghost Production.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Dynamic-a dance style in which there is no time to be bored.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Da Tweekaz, because they have made their signature unique sound, and have been in this game for many years, these are my personal favorites from whose music I get unreal pleasure.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Trust your instincts. Get out of your comfort zone. Make a unique sound.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work with all kinds of Harder Styles of music, but I also really love and have a lot of experience in EDM, Dance, Pop genres
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I believe that I can make the right commercial modern arrangement that meets all the highest quality standards, as well as interesting unique synthesized sounds and catchy melodies and chords.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring my unique sound to the song, which I have developed over the years of writing music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I carefully study the details of the order from the customer, I ask him to provide me with 1-2 reference tracks to better understand what sound he would like to hear. After that, I make a demo track for him, make edits (if necessary), then the client pays for the order and within 7-10 days (or earlier) receives the final result.
