Interview with Zen/it Productions

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: What We Started from Don Diablo - Steve Aoki and Lush & Simon - I co-produced the entire song and has been my most successful song with my old project 'Lush & Simon'
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on some of my projects at the moment, my own project Zen/it and backtomars.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital but analog sounding, for example VSTs like Diva or Analog Lab. I think everyone love Analog instruments but in terms of convenience the cited VSTs are a really good compromise.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will give all my best to make the clients happy and satisfied with the final result.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I mostly ask a reference song or an idea and what are the clients' plans for the production. Based on that I can personalize the offer and meet the right needs of the client.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I need just my macbook pro and a pair of Genelec 8010 ap.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Energetic and emotional.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Anyma, he is one of the most successful melodic techno artists out there and his songs are exceptional!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity and sound design, I always try to produce a song with a specific identity in order to not sound exactly the same as other artists' songs
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I always start from the main part of the production, for example the drop melody or groove and then I just build everything around it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Adam A7V, KRK VXT6, Roland Gaia, Ableton Live 11.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I love is to give the 100% on everything the client ask for, it really warm my heart to see them happy about the final result.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started producing when i was 14, mostly trance music then with time and experience I created few projects, one of them is called 'Lush & Simon' where I got the support from almost the whole big EDM names and reached great achievements like playing at Tomorrowland and all around the world.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sound design and details bring an amazingly unexpected new life to your song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly everything correlated to Melodic Techno, Progressive House, EDM Music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill(s) is both to come up with a strong idea and to develop an existing idea.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly make music production from scratch (with a reference)
