Interview with Alina
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: It was a pleasure working with Macau, MR. HO, KOOLKID and Emma Denney.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creativity and endless possibilities.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask for all the necessary tracks, deadline, BPM, the structure of the song / lyrics and any possible references.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Listen to my vocal medley to make sure that I can deliver what you're looking for. Contact me describing your project before placing order.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Melody is a king. Everything else is build around it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I primarily work on indie Pop / R&B music. I am generally experienced singing anything from jazz to electronic. And as a singer-songwriter I am open to experiments.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: As a singer-songwriter I start with the chords and a topline. Then I write the lyrics and decide on the direction and look for a possible reference of the overall sound. I add harmonies, build the music production, record the final vocals, put some finishing touches and send a song for mixing and mastering. Then I create a cover art.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record my vocals into FL Studio on my laptop using the Rode condenser microphone and studio headphones. I use Melodyne Editor for the time and pitch correction and CLA wave plugins for adding some effects. I have been releasing my music worldwide using this setup.
